Democrat wants retailers to voluntarily stop selling guns

NEW YORK (AP) – Sen. Charles Schumer says retailers that sell assault weapons should stop offering them for purchase while Congress discusses gun regulation legislation.

Schumer on Sunday released a letter he sent to major retailers asking for a voluntary moratorium.

The New York Democrat says consumer demand for guns has gone up in the weeks since the December mass shooting in Newtown, Conn.

Schumer says Congress is debating the issue, and if measures get passed that limit these type of weapons, it won’t help if more of them have recently been sold.

Take heart gun owners, the state controlled media has always supported those in power, in whatever country they skulk in. I’ll wager the, defeatist, press of Norway, during the Quisling regime of World War II, were lamenting that some “misguided” Norsk patriots were involved in the blowing up of the Nazi’s Heavy Water facility at Telemark. We now know that these heroes were, partially, responsible for denying Hitler the Atom Bomb, and all that would have entailed. BTW, next time you’re imbibing, raise a belated glass to those heroic Norwegians, who were successful, and, to the three dozen Brits who died, in an earlier attack on the facility.
