Having Already Prepared For The Impending Recession, North Dakota Lawmakers Focus On Bottle Rockets

The banning of them, specifically. Did you know you could shoot your eye out with those things?

BISMARCK – A bill that would ban the sale of small bottle rockets in the state won a unanimous “do-pass” recommendation Monday from the House Industry, Business and Labor Committee.
Opponents of small bottle rockets want them banned because of their propensity to cause serious eye injuries.
“They are nasty little devils,” said Minot ophthalmologist Darrell Williamsm, who testified on behalf of the bill. “They fly erratically and then explode.”

Nasty little devils. Indeed.
Next legislative session I’m going to petition the old biddies in the legislature to introduce legislation banning forks. They’re sharp, pointy and if you miss your mouth you can stab yourself in the face. Maybe even in the eye.
And why should we put our lives at risk with forks when the much safer spoons are so handy. Then again, spoons do sometimes have sharp edges.
Hmm…

    Sissy.

Says the guy that had his mom light his rockets because he’s scared of hot things.

Another example of some legislator’s pet peeve (or that of some friend or relative) being turned into a law.

They sit in Bismarck for four damn months wasting our money and THIS is the kind of legislation they come up with? Wasn’t it last time they spent days on making the chokecherry ND’s state fruit?

God help us! Can I have my vote back, please? (along with the money being flushed down the toilet)

You know why this is really gone into effect?

Being born and raised on cheap fireworks I know this very well…

What do you call it when you break the stick off of a bottle rocket?

We couldnt have that kind of thing going on with our new president now….

    sheesh….

Isn’t it odd that these are manufactured and sold in Communist China but not here in the allegedly free USA?

Whats odd tater, is that everything is made in anyplace other than here. I just read this mourning that South Korea is sending stuff to North Korea to be assembled. And they pay the STATE, not the workers $70 a MONTH for their labor. But that’s a good thing you will say. Slave labor so you can buy your watch cheaper. Someone will always do it for less, that does not make sound trade policy.
