Harry Reid Likely To Decide Minnesota Senate Election

Because the actual vote count totals performed by the official vote counters aren’t to Al Fanken’s liking.

Since the recount in Minnesota is going badly for Al Franken, he is contemplating asking the Senate to intervene. To be sure, the Senate has the Constitutional authority to do so but few things could de-legitimize Franken more than having a Democrat-controlled Senate state that he is the winner when the election officials in the state of Minnesota–no red state, that–seem to think differently. Indeed, who doesn’t think that the Senate would decide the election purely on partisan grounds–especially with Harry Reid at the helm.

So much for “the consent of the governed.”

    Frankenwhiner won’t need Harry.
They’ll just keep finding ‘uncounted’ votes in Minniesoda…all for Al, of course!

Where did the “likely to decide” in the headline come from?

Lessee….you would have 40 Republicans seated, and Reid would break the filibuster with 59 Democrats exactly how, especially given that one of them, Joe Lieberman, is prone to attacks of conscience? I wouldn’t be surprised at a revolt among moderate Democrats if Reid tried to pull that stunt, one that would put him out of his leadership position altogether.

Should have said if they let it go to the senate

    voter disenfranchisement ??

This would only be true if the shoe was on the other foot.

Franken is a poor loser. The operative word is LOSER.

You, AL, did not win. You have been a show off, a “look at me” individual all your life and now this would humble most, but not you. You will whine, lay down and kick your feet and make a scene like only you would do. You could graciously bow out and try again next time like most other opponents would do. You are loosing your credibility if you had any at all.

    Rusty,

Newsflash, the recounts are over. Coleman managed to hold the lead. Course, if they let it go to vote, then it would have been all that voting and money spent on the recounts are for naught.

    win at all costs…

So, if you don’t like prop. 8, go to the courts. If you don’t like the senate race outcome, go to the courts? Why bother voting? Like I have said before, the dems talk about voter disenfranchisement, wouldn’t this be a big example of that?

    smalley will probably appeal.
