Harry Reid, Democrats Pander To Anti-Military Nut Jobs In Berkeley

Senator Jim DeMint was trying to push through a bill to deny the city of Berkeley any federal funding should they follow through on their threats to give military recruiters in their city the boot, and Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid blocked the bill.

“The only reason to recess is to block something, and the thing that got blocked by Reid’s stall tactic was the Semper Fi Act,” said spokesman Wesley Denton, referring to the bill introduced by his boss, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).

“Democrats have chosen not to defend the Marine Corps, but to pander to anti-war protesters and Berkeley officials that are actively trying to impede military recruitment.”

Meanwhile, in Berkeley, the Code Pink nut jobs Harry Reid and his fellow Democrats are pandering too crossed into a city park and attacked pro-military advocates demonstrating there.

Berkeley erupted in violence Tuesday morning when the Communist, terrorist-supporting anti-war group crossed into Martin Luther King Park and assaulted pro-troop individuals. Riot police stood by, but did not stop the assaults.

Police agencies did not respond to calls for help. . . .

MAF Exeutive Director Catherine Moy attempted to get help from the Berkeley police as the mayhem unfolded, but an officer hung up on Moy. Moy asked the California Highway Patrol to help in the emergency, but the CHP refused.

“I have never in my life experienced such inaction in the face of an emergency, “Moy said. “I will ask the Federal Government to investigate, as well as the State Attorney General. It is one thing to give free parking places to the City Council’s special interest anti-war groups, it is another to take sides and endanger the lives of others.”

A prime example of that tolerance liberals are so famous for.

This is what the Democrats in Washington DC are protecting.  A bunch of transparently communist thugs who go so far beyond mere opposition to the war in Iraq that it is perfectly fair and acceptable to describe them as actually hating the military.  If Harry Reid and his fellow Democrats actually meant what they said when they tell us that they “support the troops” they’d be joining Republicans in opposing Code Pink, not pandering to that despicable organization.

Harry Reid, poor dear, is just having a hissy fit.  He spent the past two years saying the war was lost, and now that the Marines and the Army and David Petraeus have proved him wrong he’s got his boxers in a bowline.

Once his hormones get straightened out again he’ll be back to his old, jovial, fulsome self.  What a guy!

Ah yes, Code Pink and the Democrat Leadership supporting our troops the only way they know how. And Nancy’s support of “Surge Failure” continues.....

What I really dont get tho is why would anyone join a group that calls themselves “code pink” then attack pro-military supporters.... What are they looking for, a pillow fight?

First of all, that’s the funniest sentence I’ve ever read. Code Pink is not just any anti-war group; oh no, they’re a Communist, terrorist-supporting anti-war group!

I think there is a very slight chance that the reporter of this article is very, very slightly biased, and that this bias may have altered his perception. Very slight, I know, but it’s still possible.

A prime example of that tolerance liberals are so famous for.

The following comments appeared in the comments section of the story you just linked to:

Todd,

Because you can cite an example in a comment of intolerance doesn’t make the commi-lib code pink loons any more tolerant.  In fact, comparatively speaking, code pink is the more intolerable by their own actions.  It was code pink who resorted to physical violence.  If the authorities will not intervene then those being assaulted are within their rights to defend themselves.

Todd, it’s amaing how it’s OBVIOUS bias if there is the slightest fairness with regards to the, for the want of a better word, conservative side; yet there is “no bias” in those stories (a la the NYT’s) where the language is slanted towards the “Progressive” mentality.
