Harry Reid: Declaring English As America’s Language Is Racist

Frankly, I don’t see making English America’s official as being racist at all. This country spends a great deal of money on translating forms, communications and signs into other languages. There is no need for us to be spending this money. If you want to live in this country you should speak the language of the land.
Here in America that language is English. It’s what the vast majority (99%?) of people here speak.
I wouldn’t move to France and expect them to translate things for me. Why should anyone get to move to America and expect us to translate things for them?

    Perhaps if someone took the time and trouble to sit down with Nevada’s Seantor “Sunstroke” and patiently explained to him using words of no more than two syllables that English is actually the language that he himself uses daily, the very same language his mother taught him, and the same language that the Congressional Record uses to print a record of all of his throoughly tedious speeches… perhaps then he would understand.

    The leadership of the Democrats is so far beyond my personal beliefs that the Democrats I would maybe vote for are under the great umbrella of suspicion. I’m nearly 60 and I do know how political parties operate.

    As long as people like Reid have the reins to the party, I cannot and will not vote for a local candidate being tied to this kind of leadership because I know that candidate is too often *subject* to the foolishness from on high I have come to despise.

    Frankly you have to speak English to really enter the economy. Making people learn the language is the best thing for them in the long run.
