Harry Reid: Amendments To Legislation Should Be Germane To That Legislation…

...unless it’s convenient for the Democrats for them not to be.

Here’s Harry talking in January of this year:

I also recognize that we have a process in the Senate where bills can be amended. Sometimes they don’t have to be relevant or germane. But I think you have to be in the ballpark.

Now here’s Harry putting Iraq legislation in a water bill:

WASHINGTON (CNN)—The top Democrat in the Senate announced Monday he is moving two major Iraq votes into an unrelated water bill, a decision that could clear the way for an Iraq funding vote as early as this week.

Congress is under a deadline to pass billions in war funding by Memorial Day, but a Senate debate over attaching timelines could delay the process.

Gotta love those consistent Democrats.
