Harry Reid Basically Calls Marco Rubio A Race Traitor

Written By:

It wasn’t all that long ago that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that he didn’t understand how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican. He reiterated that position recently during an interview on a Hispanic-themed political show during which he was asked why Senator Marco Rubio talks like a Republican even though he’s Latino.

Reid’s response? “Marco Rubio has to understand who he is.” Meaning, apparently, that Rubio is being a traitor to his race by being a Republican (pertinent question starts at 2:08):

Maybe, just maybe, people should be free to believe or think anything they want regardless of the color of their skin. We certainly don’t expect that white people all subscribe to a specific ideology because of their race, so why in the world would we expect blacks or Hispanics or Asians or people or any other race to think a certain way because of their race?

According to Reid, if you’re white you believe whatever you want, but if you’re a minority you’d better stay on the liberal plantation.
