Happy Birthday Rob

Today is Rob’s Birthday.  Of course Birthdays are about tradition so his mom invited all of his little friends over to her house for a cake and ice cream party.  There will also be some of those fun games like pin the tail on the donkey.

Here’s a picture of last years party.  That’s Rob in his costume.

Doesn’t sound as fun as it used to be.  Anyway if you want to skip the party and still give Rob a birthday present you can donate to his site today.  That’s when I like to donate so that it’s a gift rather than taxable income.  To make it easy for you guys I figured out how to put the paypal donate button on the post.

What no “Bunny Boy” comments?

Rock on!  Happy Birthday, Rob!

“Hope is not a method.” - Common Military Saying

The above is a statement of pro activity.  If any Soldier were to tell me that he hoped what he was briefing was going to come to fruition, that would be unacceptable.  We in the Army do not have the luxury to ‘hope’ that things will end well.  Hope will get us killed.  Instead, we must plan and take action.  Hope is not a method.

As a leader I can never ‘hope’ that my Soldiers have the proper training.  I can never ‘hope’ that my Soldiers have the proper logistical supplies.  I can never ‘hope’ that my Soldiers will survive the next mission.  Hope is not a method; I live in the real world.

Thanks guys.

That is not me in the mouse costume, by the way.  That is the Whistler, but he just will not admit it.

June 3rd.
Jefferson Davis’ birthday, Rob Port’s birthday,
...my birthday! Coincidence? I think not!

Trolls. It’s what’s for breakfast!

It’s Rob.

I’m much bigger than Rob, when I’m wearing my costume I look like a rat.

You think you got it bad. Yesterday I flew off my Vespa.  Got a broken finger, leg fracture and stitches and super glue in my lips.

I used to take the Bunny Boy to Chuckie Cheeses in Anchorage.  It was his favorite place.  I hated the place but took him anyway.  Along with 75 of his friends.

Happy Birthday, Rob.  What a bummer that you had to work on your birthday, though.  I assume the costume is just a great disguise that let you get closer to those you were watching.  :^)

And Happy Birthday to you too, Proof.

Carol & Robert: Thanks for the kind felicitations! I was planning on not having any more birthdays, but then, I considered the alternative!

No, I’m grumpy because you borrowed ‘em all and won’t give them back.

Jerk.
