Happy Birthday, Milton

Belated birthday wishes to one of the most unassuming intellectual heroes of this or any other era in American history. A true giant, Dr. Milton Friedman was 94 years young yesterday.

Like baseball’s last two 300 game winners, we will not see the likes of Milton Friedman, or his wife Rose, ever again.

Happy Birthday… and many, many thanks.

My Main Man, Milt Friedman!  HB, Milt: You’re an econ superstar.  Free to Choose, one of the great econ books of all time.

This guy was for school vouchers in the 1950’s.  I read Capitalism and Freedom when about six years ago and the man’s ideas on free markets form the basis of everything the Republican Party SHOULD stand for, but has lost in the rush to big government and big entitlements.  Absolutely ahead of his time.
