Gwyneth Paltrow Calls Americans A Bunch Of Sissies

American actress Gwyneth Paltrow has praised Londoners for their resilience after the British capital's transport network was attacked by suicide bombers on 7 July (05).

The Shakespeare in Love beauty, who lives in London with her rock star husband Chris Martin and daughter Apple, admits she is amazed by the locals' courage in the face of adversity.

She says, "I find the English amazing how they got over 7/7. There were no multiple memorials with people sobbing as they would have been in America. There, they are constantly scaring people but at the same time, people think nothing of going to see a therapist."

Well, we're sorry we were so affected by the deaths of a couple of thousand of our countrymen in a cowardly sneak-attack.

We'll try not to let all the mourning and carrying-on bug you next time.

Now how many were killed in New York alone?

Maybe the problem is that we Americans have more respect for human life than the Europeans.

Its not a competition. The point that has been missed, by Gwyneth and the people getting angry at her remarks, is that the majority of people in London keep their eulogizing to a minimum for the very reason that we realise that 9/11 was a bigger tragedy. That is if we must judge tragedies quantitatively (who am I to say).
