“Guns Across America” Rally Coming To Bismarck This Saturday

20086

Guns Across America is an effort to hold rallies in each state capitol across the country on January 19th. So far it seems they’ve organized in 47 states, and North Dakota is one of them.

If you’re a North Dakotan, you can get more information about the rally in Bismarck here. It will be held on Saturday, January 19th, at noon.

If you’re reading this in another state, you can find your rally here.

North Dakota has several pro-gun laws in the hopper for this legislature. I hope that our lawmakers are paying attention these citizens, and the need to protect our 2nd amendment rights from opportunist federal legislators looking to leverage mass murder into justification for undermining those rights.

So, let me see, if I can play this game? Do you agree with the following….

“The government is afraid of the guns people have because they have to have control of the people at all times. Once you take away the guns, you can do anything to the people. You give them an inch and they take a mile. I believe we are slowly turning into a socialist government. The government is continually growing bigger and more powerful and the people need to prepare to defend themselves against government control.”

  • fedupny

It is also “gun appreciation day” nationwide. As of right now in NY, over 2k have said they are going to the rally. The city police are supportive. So, support your local gun shop and go to your state’s rally.

  • SusanBeehler

This is a very scary thing, because they will be rallying in a “gun free” zone and we all know a “gun free” zone attracts mass killings.

    • Wayne

Idiot. When crazy people want to gun down lots of people they look for ‘gun free zones’. Why is that so hard for your little mind to understand? The expert that taught the Active Shooter Survival Training course I took yesterday made that point several times. Sorry you can’t accept it.

      • Wayne

The expert recommended not putting ‘gun free zone’ signs up. Would you put one in your front yard?

        • SusanBeehler

What expert? Yard signs are only permitted 30 days before an election, unless of course you advertising your tools for sale or a rummage sale or your house for sale or a garage sale. No signs are allowed in most areas, I supposed you could paint your home with a sign, maybe you could put a gun on a tripod in your front yard and that would scare someone off, otherwise you are pretty much not allowed to put up signs.

          • Wayne

Boy I guess you got me there. Ok Idiot. Put one in your window then. Geez, don’t be so stupid.

The class was ‘Active Shooter Survival Training’. It was a five hour class put on at Bismarck State College by the ND Safety Council. I don’t think the instructor would want me to give out his name. He was pretty touchy about that kind of stuff. But he was a security expert who worked for a security consulting firm. He was a professional body guard, professional private investigator, ex-military, ex-cop. He mentioned several factors that explain why these kinds of shootings occur including degradation of family values, violent games, our mental health laws. He also mentioned access to weapons but stressed that he was not only talking about guns. The school were the most number of children were killed in the US occurred in Michican in 1927 when a school board member used a bomb to kill 38 children and six adults and injuring 58 others. A crazy man in China used a knife to kill 50 children at a school. He never once mentioned ‘assault rifles’ or ‘high capacity magazines’ during the entire class. Let alone that they were a cause of the problem. He did say that these shooters have all caused concern before the shooting took place. He did say that they all had planned the shooting for a long time in advance and knew what they were doing and all of them averaged practice at the range 23 times a year. Doesn’t sound ‘lazy’ to me. He also said that not one of these shooters purchased a gun at a gun show. Try actually learning some facts before you shoot your stupid mouth off.

          • Wayne

You never answered my question, Idiot.

          • SusanBeehler

It is a mute question, can’t happen, I am certainly not going to fight for a law to change it. You can’t read. Signs are not allowed to be put in our yard except for those few times I wrote about, but if you want to make up a pin I would wear one. So I could be a moving target. But if you want a hypothetical answer I would be willing to put a sign in my yard that says I am against gun violence, I would not put up a sign to promote this pseudo group.

          • Wayne

OK STUPID. Would you put a ‘Gun Free Zone’ sign in your window?

          • Wayne

            Boy you are stupid.

          • Wayne

So by that stupid answer, I assume that you would not put a ‘gun free zone’ sign in your window

          • Guest Observer

            “It is a mute question”

            A mute question? WOW!

          • SusanBeehler

Before you go piping off with your crazy stories. We do not live in China 50 children were not killed, you are caught in the “web”, in a woman’s world we call it “gossip”. What is a long time when you can’t even distinguish between dead and wounded? Sounds like shooting at the range 23 times a year is what many do for recreation, for “fun”, if you golf does not mean you are not “lazy”. You try actually learning some facts before you shoot. You hear what you want, you repeat what you want, you think what you want, you carry the gun you want, sounds like you are pretty FREE to do what you want, doesn’t make it a fact or truth. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/15/world/asia/man-stabs-22-children-in-china.html?_r=0

          • Wayne

Projecting again. And oh no, not the NYtimes! We all no how truthful they are. That fact was part of the presentation at the Active Shooter class i took. I believe him before I believe the lying NYtimes.

          • Wayne

I checked the NY Times story you linked to. What makes you think this is the same incident the instructor was talking about? Knives are probably the weapon of choice in China for killing school children.

          • SusanBeehler

Maybe China does not have as many school killings. Because you think if 50 people were murdered you might be able to find somewhere somehow the story was covered, google 50 and you can only find stories on the 22 wounded, Maybe your instructor heard it from someone else, who heard it from someone else, and so on. Every play the game telephone as a child? Same principal you cannot always repeat what was said correctly, try it with someone whispering a tongue twister in your ear. You have been fed the arguments someone started somewhere and parroted what they said, you could check your facts. If you don’t stand for something, you could fall for anything.

Maybe you like this story better http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/12/14/china-knife-attack-school.html

          • Wayne

Or maybe he knows more about the subject (that is his area of expertise) than you do. I believe him not you.

          • Wayne

And the fact that knives are used to kill school children proves the point that banning ‘assault rifles’ will not protect the children because crazy people will find other ways to kill people because they want to kill people.

          • Wayne

No comment on all the other facts that refute all the stupid things you say?

          • Wayne

Let me try to explain it to you. Please read slowly. When these people do these kind of things they pains-takenly plan every little detail, to military precision. Even where to park. Nothing is left to chance. They watch the location for a long time before the attack so they know where people gather in an emergency, where police and fire go to respond etc. They spend time at the range practicing. Their choice is not random, lazily picked like you want to think. I am using the word think very loosely. Again this is according to the expert that taught the Active Shooter Survival Training class i took.

      • SusanBeehler

You mean like a rally at the capital? Actual you are making my point, isn’t this group afraid of a rally about guns. Because they will be in a NO GUN ZONE, a “gun free” zone. They are now “targets” because they are rallying for guns with no guns. Now who are you calling an idiot?

        • Wayne

What is your point? That crazy mass murders are looking for ‘gun free zones’? Well then, I’m glad I convinced you of something. You can learn something.

          • SusanBeehler

Still don’t have a sense of humor?

          • Wayne

You are not trying to be funny. You are spinning like a top.

          • Lianne

She is just a sqeaky old wheel getting the grease she so fervently demands. You may have to
learn to ignore the squeak. All she does is distract from any serious
            discourse.

          • SusanBeehler

            Squeak, Squeak

          • Wayne

I think you’re right. She is waste of time. Thanks.

      • Spartacus

She’s clueless and emotional…. and probably PMS’ing. Doesn’t even realize that the AR-15 is nothing more than a glorified varmint rifle, that’s why the military initially hated the guns caliber when it was introduced. My Winchester model 70 .22-250 is more lethal than an AR-15 and it only holds 5 rounds if there’s not one in the pipe.

        • SusanBeehler

So you are bringing your winchester to the rally?

          • Spartacus

open carry in my state, why not?

          • SusanBeehler

What state do you live in?

          • Spartacus

My name is Oliver Willis and I live in Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C.

          • SusanBeehler

Hmm, the state which supplies the guns to our “gun controlled” DC?
I don’t think we have an open carry in North Dakota, but they are looking to repeal many gun laws and establish a Gun Protection act. I think it is sad, the priorities are to protect guns and not have a Child Protection act.

          • Wayne

Hey Idiot, the Democrats aren’t trying to protect children. They are using those children killed at Sandy Hook to fulfill their wet dream of disarming American citizens. If they wanted to protect children they would allow armed guards in public schools. Just like the armed guards at the private school Obama sends his kids to.

          • SusanBeehler

Idiot your most favorite word of all? The NRA using children to further their cause? Wayne you willing to pay for those armed guards with a tax on your ammo or guns or do you think those taxes should only go to hunt ducks and such in North Dakota. I suppose you think your children should have a bedroom in the White House too. You become President I would have your children protected with armed guards too, it is what we do for our President.

          • Wayne

Idiot is my favorite word for you. It fits. Those guards at the school where Obama’s children go are not Secret Service. They are there whether Obama’s kids go to school there or not. Do you want to protect school children or not? Taking people’s guns away aren’t going to do it. But you don’t want to do something that will work why? I think everyone should pay for guarding our kids at school, not just gun owners. IDIOT.

          • SusanBeehler

So who is paying for those guards. Sounds like a private school with very nice amenities. Who is taking away your guns? How much do you think guarding every school will cost? Do you have a big enough home to pay for it and please do not tell me you live in an apartment? You or I do not KNOW what will work at reducing violence, we might think we know but until it is tried we are only guessing. England has pretty good handle on gun violence but America doesn’t like to do what England does.

          • Wayne

Let me see if I understand your BS. Since guards, although effective, would cost money, you don’t support it. But you do support taking peoples’ guns away, even though it would be totally ineffective, because it won’t cost any money. OK then.

Banning ‘assault rifles’ has been tried, IT DID NOT WORK. That’s why the ban was allowed to expire. Armed guards will work a hell of a lot better than another ‘assault weapons’ ban.

Get off the cost thing. It’s just another smoke screen. The cost would not be that high relatively speaking. Or we could train existing staff or we could rely on volunteers from the police department etc.

And I know a hell of a lot more than you do. So now you admit that you want to outlaw guns. To hell with the second amendment.

          • SusanBeehler

I didn’t say that, I just asked how it would be funded? It is not a smoke screen, you cannot add services without adding some way to pay for the services. “The cost would not be that high” based on what, because you said so. Volunteers good luck with that, we can’t even get enough volunteers to read in school. I am glad you think you know more the hell then I do, I do not even Know who the hell you are. I do not want to outlaw guns, you want to fight with an imaginary person of your conceiving.

          • Wayne

You lie. You said, “England has pretty good handle on gun violence but America doesn’t like to do what England does.” They have banned private gun ownership. So don’t claim you don’t want to ban guns. Liar.

The Swiss require every house to have a fully automatic weapon. That is a real assault weapon. And gun violence is much lower than Britain’s.

          • SusanBeehler

You don’t believe England has low gun violence? They had less than 100 murders by guns, I think it was 30 some, the US had over 10,000 murders by guns. The Swiss do not have a militia, it is only their citizens who are armed. We could get rid of armed forces and follow Switzerland, but than what will we do with all the tanks, the aircraft and ships and such?

          • Wayne

I did not say that the British do not have low gun violence. I said the Swiss have lower gun violence with an automatic gun in each house. Which is true. The fact that they have no militia has no bearing in this discussion. Now what’s your point again? I had enough of your obtuse ignorance and lying.

          • Wayne

So you think that hiring a couple of guards for each school is too much to ask? Something that will actually help. You are a complete idiot.

          • SusanBeehler

No I don’t think it would be too much too ask and if you would pay attention to the news you would now the President’s executive order #18 was to give incentives for more resource officers for school. HB 2183 being proposed in our legislature if passed may hinder us from getting those incentives because the state does not want to enforce or support anything coming from the federal government having to do with guns. I just wanted to know how much they will cost us in taxes and if you would be willing to pay a tax on your guns and ammo for it?

          • SusanBeehler

Are gun owners against registering and licencing their weapons and if so why?

          • Wayne

Facts gun control advocates don’t want you to know (not that it will matter to you Idiot). According to the FBI in 2011:

            1694 were murdered by knives
            726 with hands or feet
            496 with clubs or hammers

323 with rifles of ANY TYPE

And your buddy Obama wants to ban ‘assault rifles’.

          • Matthew Hawkins

The only armed guards at the school Obama sends his children to are the secret service. The school employs no armed guards. I know it is shocking that Breitbart.com and the NRA lied.

          • Wayne

Proof? My be is that it is the liberal sources that are lying to you. As usual.

          • ellinas1

            Hello Oliver…..

          • SusanBeehler

Just wondering if gun owners are against registering and licencing their weapons and if so why?

          • Wayne

Because when Obama comes to get our guns, he’ll know where to go. This is America not the USSR.

            Sweet

    • Spartacus

Ironically, SuzyQ, no shooting incidents will happen at these rallies because as you’ve clearly pointed out they are gun free zones and therefore mass murderers won’t know which if any otherwise law abiding citizens are packing within heat in said gun free zone. I know it requires that you take a leap, but do you see how that works?

      • SusanBeehler

So you are saying at the rally their will be guns even though by law it is a NO GUN Zone. How can you be law abiding if you bring a gun to this rally?

        • Spartacus

The second amendment says we have the right to keep and bear arms. There is no further discussion needed.

          • SusanBeehler

What happened to the “NO Gun Zone makes you vulnerable argument.” Keep and bear, does that mean shoot too?

          • Spartacus

Gun free zones are a feel good measure people like you dreamed up wishing criminals would abide by the sign stating as such, nobody else believes in them. You know the old saying, wish in one hand, sh!t in the other. See which one fills up faster.

“Keep and bear, does that mean shoot too?”

Yes, if necessary. That’s the idea behind it. What did you think it meant?

          • SusanBeehler

            A hat hanger?

          • Spartacus

I didn’t use fowl language, I just pointed out that your sentence and question was very difficult to read given half of it was missing, and I even apologized for pointing it out to you. EXCUSE ME miss priss.
