Gun Control Didn’t Help The Victims Of The Mumbai Attacks
In the wake of mass shootings in the United States gun control advocates are routinely heard to blame it on Americans’ love of guns and our nation’s relatively loose (compared to other nations) policies on gun ownership. But now Mumbai has suffered a mass shooting and India has no 2nd amendment. No “gun culture” on par with America’s. And some of the strictest gun laws in the world.
And none of those things stopped the attack in Mumbai.
In fact, it could be argued that if security guards in India had been allowed to carry firearms (it is very difficult to get such permits thanks to India’s strict gun laws), and if private citizens in India had a right to carry, quite a few lives could have been saved.
