The corrupt democrat controlled major media outlets will say Heidi leads by at least 30 points in the upcoming election and all you who might vote for Berg doesn’t need to bother voting cuz they say trust us she’s gonna win. Thats what we have for fair and balanced reporting from the main stream media in this country.

A democrat, losing in a blood-red state? No way.

    • Clarence A. Herz

blood-red? Where the hell do you live?

      • Rick Olson

Reliably red state would be a more accurate description. North Dakota hasn’t voted for a Democrat for the White House since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.

Last time a Republican held the seat Berg is running for was 1958. From 1981 to 2011, Dems held the state’s only House seat, rarely facing serious challenges for it. Longtime Republican Senator Milton Young came within a few hundred votes of losing his seat in 1974. Senator Mark Andrews did lose in 1986, leaving no Republicans representing the state in Congress till 2011. Dems won 7 of 8 gubernatorial elections between 1960 and 1988. From 1988 to 2006, Dems won lopsided Senate elections in the state, dropping below 60% only twice–once in 1992 (Dorgan’s 59-41 win) and 1994 (Conrad’s 58-41 win). How exactly is North Dakota a bloodred state again?

We have one (soon to be zero) democrats in federal office, 20 straight years of republican governors and counting, state level offices are all held by republicans, and a republican super-majority in the state legislature. How exactly is North Dakota not a blood-red state again?

    And we call this jouranlism?

If this is Chris Berg’s attempt at satire, it didn’t work. No wonder NDSU had him removed from being the sideline reporter for KVLY’s television game coverage of the Bison football games this year. By the way, KVLY removed this bit from their website and their Facebook feed as well. I guess enough people complained immediately and loudly that this bit was definitely in poor taste.

I just checked http://www.valleynewslive.com/story/19594228/breaking-news-rep-rick-berg and at 4:43pm it’s still there. I think the reason he isn’t a sideline reporter for the NDSU games is payback to conservatives for challenging the liberal leadership(?) in the university system.

Oh give ne a break Rick, it was a bit of satire.

The Democrats in this state need to learn how to take a joke.

      • Rick Olson

Of course it was a bit of satire. I’m not a Democrat, either. However, I do agree with you that the Democrats in this state reallyneed to learn how to take a joke.

          Clearly, you do too.

What is this … “Pile on Rick time?” I make one mistake and you all jump all over me. I immediately acknowledged my mistake and apologized.

Next time know what you’re talking about Rick.

      • Rick Olson

I stand corrected. Then someone was trying to put a red herring out there earlier and I guess I fell for it.

  • jimmypop

has anyone ever honestly thought she was ahead? i think shed have a house seat with ease or even being our governor, but she has never had a shot at the senate seat. she got greedy and it cost her.

    • Rick Olson

Then how come all of these out-of-state PACs and special interest groups have opened their checkbooks wide and are spending money like drunken sailors to get Heidi elected, when she in all likelihood is not very electable?

      • Deficit Hawk

Desperation because of known Senate Seattle losses in other states. That is easy to see…..

        • Rick Olson

Then even if Heidi does win this thing…the moment she raises her right hand in the well of the U.S. Senate and says “I do” on her swearing-in day, she’ll immediately be expected to fall obediently in line with Harry Reid’s stranglehold upon his caucus. She will be hardly an independent voice for North Dakota, that’s for sure!

      • jimmypop

and who else are they going to fund here? if they were smart, theyd funnel money down to the local folks and take over bismarck…..

  • I H8 GOPers

Chris Berg is more out of touch with the public than Rick Berg.

By the way, Chris. If that mustache comes in a little bit more, you can start doing TV commercials for e-cigarettes.
