Google’s Censorship

Video of rapper Akon dry humping a fourteen-year-oldAll over YouTube.

Video blog from Michelle Malkin criticizing Akon for dry-humping said 14-year-old that just happens to show brief, fair-use amounts of the humping video in question?  Taken off YouTube for “copyright” violations.

That’s...consistent.

Comments

At least she can’t complain about her other great video being censored in any way, shape or form.

My goodness, who would want to censor that?  Malkin in a cheerleader outfit?

Meow.

The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is… legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay … If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system.

The Universal Music Group is hostile to criticism. They’ll shut you up.

Reminds me of some of the Indians we’ve been getting around here lately.

Some people just don’t respect free speech.

I’d like to dry hump Michelle Malkin.

Graeme on May 3, 2007 at 10:18 pm

I’d like to dry hump Michelle Malkin.

Egh.

Well, I’m sure if that if she would ever decide to go slumming with a communist, you’d have your chance.

Little boy!  Like there are any other kinds?  Rave on.  You sure a funny little thing!

Truth hurt Andy? Your petty insults tend to suggest that they do.

What do you hope to accomplish with a statement like this?:

Rob:

Is this the type of comments that this blog was originally intended for?  Debate the issues, not perpetuate racial stereotypes.  The comment made by likwidshoe is ignorant at best.

Creasy on May 5, 2007 at 02:55 pm

I have to say that the video of Akon dry-humping on some 14 year old is appalling.  If I was Akon, I would rather have the dry-humping video taken off of YouTube rather than the one of somebody critizing his actions.

Creasy on May 5, 2007 at 04:37 pm

Ignorant? It’s true. I know you’ve been having a problem with the truth lately, but come on. The best you can do when someone points out the very real problems is to cry racist. That’s getting old.

Again you duck the issue.  Answer my question.

I was just comparing it to a situation that had taken over the majority of the blog’s comments.

Where did I ever say that the problems that Rob pointed out do not exist?

You have a right to make observations like that.  I am not saying you don’t have a right to say what you like.

I am saying, however, is that you can make comments without using labels and using them negatively to point out something that you don’t agree with.

Creasy on May 5, 2007 at 06:39 pm

Creasy - Where did I ever say that the problems that Rob pointed out do not exist?

When they are pointed out, you call them “racial stereotypes” as if that was the intent. You should be above such behavior.

I am saying, however, is that you can make comments without using labels...

What label? The only label I used in this thread is when I called Graeme a communist.

likwidshoe on May 5, 2007 at 06:47 pm

And from what I can tell Graeme would consider that a compliment.

You had to point out every Native American that has posted on this website.  Singling out on the basis of race.  Like every comment from a Native American is negative or is not important.

Maybe you didn’t mean that, but your posting implies it.

The only racial stereotype I pointed to was you saying some of the Indians we have been getting around here.

That is a sterotype that all Indians are up to no good.

You said I have a problem with the truth.  Rob’s opinion piece pointed out problems on the Reservation.

What solutions do you have that will help the situation?

He did say some.  It seems to me that that was a correct statement.

lik, did say some.  However, why even bring up the topic of Indians in this thread to begin with?  Indians have what to do with this topic?  I see it the same as when Janel brought up the topic of lik smoking pot on the other thread.

I am wondering the same as Creasy.  What does that statement have to do with the topic?  The only thing I can see is that it is another way to antangonize.

RaeMarie70 on May 5, 2007 at 07:41 pm

This label: Reminds me of some of the Indians we’ve been getting around here lately.

Is “Indian” a label?

I thought “Indian” referred to a people.

At the same time, we have people who are proud to wear that “label”. I had thought that they were a proud people, but you insist otherwise.

You had to point out every Native American that has posted on this website.

No I didn’t. I pointed out that some of the Indians have been calling for censorship. That’s all I said.

Singling out on the basis of race.  Like every comment from a Native American is negative or is not important.

Maybe you didn’t mean that, but your posting implies it.

I can’t help if you think this way. I have no idea how you would get those implications. I think that maybe you’re taking things too personally.

That is a sterotype that all Indians are up to no good.

I said some of the Indians. I don’t know where you’re getting “all” or “stereotype” from. You’re reading what isn’t there.

You had to point out every Native American that has posted on this website.  Singling out on the basis of race.

So now “Native American” equals race? Since when? What race do they happen to belong to? Where is it’s classification?

It doesn’t exist! The Indians or Native Americans here are a people. Why would you classify yourselves lower? Who cares about skin color? You need to get over that concept and stop bringing it up. You need to find out that it really doesn’t matter and it is only poison to bring the subject up.

An interesting observation is that there are only a few people bringing up race here at this blog right now. ALL of them are Indians from the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. Why? Why are you guys doing that?

You said I have a problem with the truth.  Rob’s opinion piece pointed out problems on the Reservation.

What solutions do you have that will help the situation?

Why are you bringing this up? There are three other current threads with this topic. This is what I was talking about.

likwidshoe on May 5, 2007 at 07:46 pm

You labeled the people on this website that made comments that Rob’s opinion piece was hurtful.

You use the term “Indian” as a label.  You didn’t mean it to be a positive compliment.

Reminds me of some of the Indians we’ve been getting around here lately.

So in that sense, you used it to label those who have disagreed with some of the comments you have posted.

I think that maybe you’re taking things too personally.

How could I not take it personal when you make comments about my Native American brothers and sisters that have done nothing but stand up for their pride?

Native Americans are a very proud people.  I will never apologize for my people being proud of who they are.

Indian can mean two things.  It can be used as a label, like in your comment.

It can also mean a very proud people.

Bah, whatever Creasy. It doesn’t matter what I actually say, you’ll just take whatever meaning you want from it.

How could I not take it personal when you make comments about my Native American brothers and sisters that have done nothing but stand up for their pride?

Some of them have done a lot more than that, and you know it.

Native Americans are a very proud people.  I will never apologize for my people being proud of who they are.

The hubris required to come and tell me what I meant to say. And then to deny the clarifications. Now that’s antagonization.

Why can’t you just take someone’s word for a change? It would clear up a lot of things.

likwidshoe on May 5, 2007 at 08:20 pm

Some of them have done a lot more than that, and you know it.

All I have seen is my people standing up for what they believe in and they get knocked down and attacked.  Both sides have used names and said things that they shouldn’t have.  If you want to point fingers, lets be realistic about it.

Bah, whatever Creasy. It doesn’t matter what I actually say, you’ll just take whatever meaning you want from it.

I could say the same to you. You’ll take this posting and find different meaning.  If you don’t I’ll be very surprised.

The hubris required to come and tell me what I meant to say. And then to deny the clarifications. Now that’s antagonization.

All the advice you give me in your post, you should take it yourself.

Creasy on May 6, 2007 at 09:04 am

All I have seen is my people standing up for what they believe in and they get knocked down and attacked.

You didn’t notice Andy and Xene, among a few others, claiming that all who criticize Indians are racist? You haven’t paid too much attention if that is the case.

I’m beginning to think that you’re no different than your “Native American brothers and sisters” who engage in such tactics.

Whoops! Am I allowed to say “Native American”? Or is that just a label?

I could say the same to you. You’ll take this posting and find different meaning.  If you don’t I’ll be very surprised.

You’re just deflecting here. I don’t do this. YOU do.

All the advice you give me in your post, you should take it yourself.

I’ve already taken my advice. I don’t come to you and tell you that what you said is not what you actually meant. And then repeat the process after an explanation. That’s something that YOU do, not me.

Nice try at deflection though.

likwidshoe on May 10, 2007 at 09:58 pm

Creasy had said, All I have seen is my people standing up for what they believe in and they get knocked down and attacked.

So for all of your comments in this thread, you missed that the thread’s subject was about one of “your people” threatening Rob? Talk about cognitive dissonance!
