Say Anything

Some possible reasons Glenn Beck would say the following:

“There was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like the Hitler Youth, or whatever,” Beck said on his radio show Monday, which is broadcast on more than 400 stations.

“I mean, who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics? Disturbing,” Beck said about the Labour Party youth camp on the island of Utoya where 68 people, mostly teens, were killed.

• 1. He wanted to go ahead get the “say something stupid” portion of the show over early.
• 2. He didn’t say it; it’s all a vast media conspiracy.
• 3. He felt sorry for the President and wanted to give him a breather by starting a little controversy.
• 4. He’s Glenn Beck. This is what he does.

Seriously, love the guy or hate him (I don’t listen to him personally, but I understand he has some kind of radio show and skews slightly right of center), he had to know how something like that was going to be taken. Not smart. Not even a little.
