Giuliani Is A Traitor

Well, that does it.  He’s out.  No way I’m voting for a guy who will switch his allegiances like this.

“I’m rooting for the Red Sox,” Giuliani, owner of four Yank World Series rings, declared during a campaign event in a Boston restaurant, prompting thunderous applause.

“I’m an American League fan, and I go with the American League team - maybe with exception of the Mets,” he said. “Maybe that would be the one time I wouldn’t, because I’m loyal to New York.”

Yankees fans never, ever root for the Red Sox.  Not even if they’re the American League team in the World Series.

If anything, that’s the best time to root against the Red Sox.

I think it makes perfect sense for an American League fan to root for the American League team. I’m rooting for the Rockies, because I am a National League supporter. Until a few weeks ago I couldn’t name more than four of their starters, and I still can’t remember how to spell the shortstop’s name. Todd Helton, the Rockies’ first baseman, comes up to ND to hunt, by the way.

To me this is like saying that UND fans should always root against NDSU, even when NDSU is playing Minnesota.

Oh, I suppose this is worse than Hillary Clinton switching from the Cubs to the Yankees . . . pretending all the while that she actually gives a damn about baseball?

Perspective, people.

This isn’t just any American league team though.  I mean, I would have rooted for the Indians if they’d got in (because they’re AL, and because Hafner is from ND).  But the Red Sox?

The flippin’ Red Sox?

C’mon.  I bleed pinstripes.  If Giuliani did too, no way he’d be rooting for the Sox.
