Giuliani Heckled

Is there a limit to how low these people will stoop in order to grind their political axes?

From Reuters:

Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani on Wednesday passionately defended local firefighters and police after the rescue departments' response to Sept. 11 received sharp criticism from the commission investigating the attacks...

Angry hecklers in the audience, which included family members of victims, lashed out at Giuliani and the commission, saying they were dodging the tough questions about what went wrong in 2001.

One woman cried, "My son was murdered." Another man shouted "talk about the radios" -- a reference to communications problems on the day of the attacks.

One man was removed from the room after he demanded time to question the mayor, screaming: "Three thousand people murdered does not mean leadership. ... Let me ask the real questions."

What are these people hoping to gain by trashing the FDNY and NYPD? Is all this finger pointing going to do anything to make this country safer?

And how on earth does anybody think that the FDNY and NYPD are responsible for any of the deaths on 9/11? I don't see why any of the personnel of these fine agencies should have to apologize for not being ready for an unprecedented terrorist attack on U.S. soil that our national intelligence agencies weren't even ready for.

Hundreds of police officers and firemen died on 9/11 trying to save the people in the twin towers. Doesn't anybody remember their sacrifice? How can these 9/11 family members disrespect the very people who tried to save their loved ones?

It makes me sick. These people should be focusing their anger on the people actually responsible for the attacks.

Remember the guy that was led out of the hearing? His axe goes back 8 years to the time he was a “candidate” for Mayor.

He has written a book called Perverted Little Creep that he describes as:

“Perverted Little Creep is a nasty collection of essays and cartoons by Christopher X. Brodeur spanning his battles with Mayor Rudy Giuliani over the last 8 years. (Including 6 false arrests, all of which Brodeur won in court.) The book features some of his funny jail diaries, political rants, and a few juicy transcripts of his 22 arguments with Mayor Giuliani on live radio!”

When he attempted to run against Giuliani as Mayor these were some of the things he advocated:

“Stop Recycling, encourage reuse ala the old days when the milkman would reuse the milk bottles, free subways, save water with innovative foot pedal faucets, war on bike theft (it’s the number one crime in NYC), separate jury duty rolls from voter registration rolls, ban presidential motorcades in NYC, legalize and tax marijuana, build really affordable housing [ed note—by affordable he means $50.00 per month.], legalize suicide, mandatory organ donation, [ ed note—I hope I don’t get his brain in a transplant], end all drug prohibition, monitor the mayor (I’ll put a tap on ALL my phones!).”

The Ed notes are mine from my blog entry. He did an interview that can be read here. This guy is a real piece of work to say the least. I wonder how many of the others that disrupted the proceedings were of the same varity fruitcake?

I wonder why none of this was mentioned by the media when they were all reporting that he blew up during the hearing?  To the average person reading the news it would seem like the guy didn’t have an axe to grind when it is very obvious that he did.
