But the institute's report suggests that 20 of the 29 military charities studied were managing their resources poorly, paying high overhead costs and direct-mail fundraising fees and, in some cases, providing their leaders with six-figure salaries.

Do you donate to any of these charities? If they are mismanaging your donations, perhaps you should donate to someone else.

It sounds like a legitimate concern that the money collected isn’t being spent in the most effective way. While you are petitioning Congress to regulate this mismanagement, be sure to tack on a provision or two that applies to Congressional spending as well.
