Geraldo: Jews Won’t Vote For Obama
Some Jews probably will vote for Obama, but it’s hard to fathom why given the man’s close association with people like Jeremiah Wright.

Geraldo is a legend in his own mind!
When the conversation turned to the Barbara Walter’s biography, he was joking about his sexual exploits, like a rutting pig.
American Jews are notoriously liberal, I cannot explain why, I just know they are generally liberal and I cannot imagine a majority of them not voting for whomever is the liberal candidate.
No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

I agree, Neiman. But if you were to try and explain why, what would you say? I begin to comprehend and think why, and the answers seems nasty, politically incorrect, and extremely complex.
I had the lucky opportunity when my friend, who is Jewish, Liberal, and supports Obama, attempted to explain to me why he still supports Obama Post Rev. Wright.
He said first, that he trusts Obama in whatever decision he makes (sounds like he was mesmerized) and that Rev. Wright is not Obama, and does not reflect his views. People maintain friends with people they do not agree with all the time, and for many years--maybe because of sentimental reasons that attach two people. Some people have history and despite the changes that go on through their lives and views, they honor that history with friendship.
But I think to myself that if Obama could maintain a friendship with such a man he must either agree with him, love the liberal opalescence of having a friend like Wright, or just had one painful and irritable friendship for the past 20 years.
Now, Wright’s statements do not even seem to have Obama in mind, but instead himself!
Part of the reason for Jewsish liberalism is tied to the Diaspora and the Holocaust and other persecutions. They have suffered for extremism, for nationalism and against the forces of intolerance. So, IMO only, I would ascribe much of their liberal tendencies to their past sufferings.
For anyone not sure, the Diaspora was the dispersion of the Jews from Palestine following the Babylonians’ conquest of the Judean Kingdom in the 6th century bc and again following the Romans’ destruction of the Second Temple in ad 70.

Neiman: To your observations, I would add this; As jews migrated to America, they became city dwellers where liberalism is strongest. And, in the last 70 years, the ACLU has all but stamped out Christianity in our public life; another attraction to jews.

The stakes are high. Whether the issue is the economy, or energy, or the federal courts or national security, the right answers are coming not from the Democrats, but from the Republicans. The surge of operations that began a year ago is succeeding. The only way to lose this fight is to quit. Richard M. Cheney, Vice President, 30 May, 2008
Oh,
Bring it on.
I don’t understand why US Jews vote consistently for democrats.
I can’t wait for the democrats to finalize the nomination of Obama.
The idea of Berrack and Michelle Obama in the the White will make the Clinton’s look like George and Martha Washington.
I can’t wait for the democrats to finalize the nomination of Obama.
We’ll see what the “Superdelegates” do.
With the “Democratic” party, it’s not up to the voters.
This inversion of reality is said to be “reality based”.
