Gauging The Conventions By Andrea Mitchell’s Reactions

This video comparing Andrea Mitchell after the Obama speech to Andrea Mitchell after the Sarah Palin speech is hilarious:

After Obama Mitchell may as well have been wearing a skirt and waving pom-poms.

After Palin, she seems downright gloomy.

Comments

Man is she UGLY.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Andrea is about as one sided as Olbermann.  I don’t know how people like her can pretend that they are objective journalists?

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

I’m amazed how misogynistic she is, too.  It’s almost like she’s trying to out old-boy the old boys.

Um...that video doesn’t compare her interview with Giuliani to anything. Was there supposed to be another video there of her post-Obama reaction?

Now, I’m not questioning, for one second, the pom-pom remark, but now I gotta go and find the second clip for myself.

Since there was no comparison video, here are some other Main Stream Media reactions to Sarah Palin:

CBS’s Bob Schieffer said, “I think she passed the first test. The people in this hall absolutely loved this speech. … Now we’ll see how it plays with the rest of the country.”

“Two things are clear after Sarah Palin made her do-or-die debut before 20-plus million people tonight,” explained Time Magazine’s Jay Carney. “She is amazingly self-confident. And she knows how to nail a speech.”

His colleague Joe Klein agreed calling it ‘brilliant.’

George Stephanopolous lauded the speech on Nightline. “She definitely gets an A,” he said. “It was appealing and funny and warm at times. Very, very tough at times as well. And she really did have an ability to bring these things down to earth, bring it down to earth.”

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer agreed. “She really did hit it out of the park tonight not only here but for millions of Americans watching across the country,” he said.

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Palin’s role as attack dog? Effective. “She is a torpedo aimed directly at the ship of Barack and Michelle Obama,” he said.

The sourpuss of the group, not surprisingly, was Keith Olbermann. “People who like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like,” he said dourly.

Even the Obama campaign praised it’s delivery — but that’s where they stopped.

“The speech that Gov. Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush’s speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we’ve heard from George Bush for the last eight years, a campaign spokesman said.

Summing up the evening perhaps best is Tom Shales over at the Washington Post:

“If the Republicans win the presidential election in November, it may well be said that they won it last night — the night that John McCain’s brilliantly screwy choice for a running mate changed from laughingstock to national star,” he wrote.

Jerry on September 4, 2008 at 05:50 pm

MSNBC is a horrible there is nothing objective about that channel. The fact that Keith Overbight hasn’t been fired makes me scratch my head.

He puts on his pantyhose just like every other transvestite.

True, but anything else they are willing to put against OReily is going to do worse.

And who likes OReily?

Keith Overbite the countdown to no ratings. That is what Mark Levin says. I would love to see Overbite get slapped down he needs it.

Whistler I don’t mind Bill O, he is a little full of himself but I think he is pretty even handed.

By the looks of the ratings for the past 7 years or so he has quite a few fans.  I don’t agree with him on his view of the oil companies and some other things but for the most part he is pretty fair and balanced.

Hey Olbermann brings in the moonbats that are sober enough to turn on the news channel.

He’s probably got a pretty solid gig for himself.

The beauty of it is that it kills him that he’ll never touch OReilly.

You know what I really don’t like about Bill’s show is that there’s one person you’d like to see.  He teases you to watch the whole show and at about 7:48 they’re on for 2 minutes.

So I don’t watch very much anymore.

They wanted - expected - her to choke. Ooops.

Heh.

The future ain’t what it used to be.....

I do not need to filter news through MSNBC or andrea.  C-Span gets it right.  Just broadcast the event live without commentary.  The liberals constantly attempt to put some type of “spin” on every little thing and distract from the huge message.  Honesty, Truth, Reality, Genuine people talking and then doing.

Well lik, ya see when C wrote: “It’s all you’ve got” I understood him to be saying that the Democratic Party had nothing. Even though he singled me out, I viewed it in a wider context.

By posting a picture of the Democratic Party’s Presidential nominee surrounded by thousands upon thousands of people, I was attempting to show him that he is not being entirely honest in his assessment of “all we’ve got”.

There, does that help you Lik?

I am happy to see you are not shy about asking about things you don’t understand. It’s an admirable quality.

If The Beatles had a concert before a McCain speech, McCain still wouldn’t a crowd.

Clever, but fucking shallow.

If The Beatles had a concert before a McCain speech, McCain still wouldn’t a crowd.

Because half of the Beatles’ are dead or because the same is true of the Beatles’ fans?

And the part that gets me is you know he’s manipulating the visual field by bunching the crowd together—yet you act as if one can extrapolate outside of the field of view and assume a far larger crowd than is really there.

That doesn’t reflect very well on you, is all I’m going to say there.

BTW, I know this isn’t the Denver concert because it’s in the daytime and there are no styrofoam greek columns in view.

And nunez, the only point you proved is women get equal treatment to men… as long as they are perfect.
