Friday Night Video: Lovesick Blues By Hank Williams
Sorry this week’s video was a little late.
Sorry this week’s video was a little late.
This is a good one, I like hank, I don’t know why, he’s really not at all to my taste, but maybe it’s just that his recordings date themselves with the dirty recording, so I can put myself into that time of thought in some small way.
What really turned me on to him was. . .I think it’s called “long gone lonesome blues” and then like 10 or 15 years later, I found out that it was hank that sang it, and I gave him a try and I liked it. Packed up somewhere is a collectors box of hank with. . .I think 6 disc.
Hank could sing the blues while boozin’ night and day.
Just another drunkard who sang the blues, country style. He heard that lonesome whistle blow, he got sad and cried… then he got drunk. Oh, and he liked his morphine, which did him in (just like Janis, Jimi, and Billie Holiday). The whippoorwills still mourn for Hank. They’re still too blue to fly.
Clayton Delaney died singing Hank’s songs.
All that honkytonkin’ will get you down.
Too many days up on Bear Creek for Hank.
