Fred Thompson’s Trophy Wife Almost Makes Alan Colmes Cry

For those of you upset by the endless coverage Sarah Palin’s wardrobe is betting, remember that Jeri Thompson when through it first when she was dubbed Fred’s “trophy wife” by the media during the primaries.
On Hannity & Colmes she proved that, trophy wife or not, she’s certainly Alan Colmes’ intellectual superior.


Discussion question: Given the treatment of Jeri Thompson and Sarah Palin, what in the world does the media have against attractive, intelligent conservative women? Aside from the fact that they’re, you know, conservative.

    Everybody knows Colmes is a straw man. Watching him and Hannity is like watching children discuss politics.

    Also note, if you were one of the conservatives bitching about Kerry’s $400 haircut (about 90% of the conservative blogosphere) than you’re just as stupid as the people complaining about Palin’s shopping spree. It’s obviously a stupid issue, appearance is just part of modern politics.

    I just posted a long post on the Palin wardrobe thread. I got remarried after my abusive first marriage to a man who is fairly wealthy and 20 yrs. my senior. I have been called “trophy wife” and “gold digger” a billion times. It is not a great feeling. I feel sorry for Jeri for the crap she has taken. She is obviously equal to Colmes, however, I’m not sure that’s a big accomplishment. He’s not even a interesting liberal, kind of a toaddy boy. Conservative women are treated differently. Just like black conservatives. I can’t believe the way they are treated. I love Condi Rice, she is a woman of true grace. I’d vote for her in a heartbeat.

    You don’t even know what my conclusions are. I simply don’t think what drew Fred and Jerry together was love, as much as it was a desire to fight against liberalism.

    You can see by Jerry’s responses and attitude that there is quite a bit of bitterness and anger. I suggest that what drew them together was a something other than love. I don’t think it is a stretch to have imagined that.

    Certainly your reality is yours and it has no relation to Jerry and Fred. I am certainly free to draw my own conclusions.
