Fred Thompson Blogburst

I’ll make no bones about it, I’m a “Fred head.” Since the day I first heard rumors about Thompson’s run and I spent some time checking into his career in politics and guiding philosophy, I’ve been hooked.  This is the sort of laid back, “leave ‘em alone” leader a conservative like me has been dreaming of.  From his staunch adherence to the founding federalist principles of this country to his respect for things like individualism, personal responsibility, gun rights and property rights Fred Thompson is the consummate conservative.

I know a lot of you readers out there feel the same way.  And while we all wish that our simple declarations of support were enough to push a politician through to victory, it just ain’t so.  Politics runs on money, and right now Fred needs some of yours.

So click through to here, dig deep, and contribute to help Fred get an ad on in Iowa.  This has been a lackluster campaign season for conservatives.  From Mitt Romney to Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani to John McCain there just isn’t a real good fit for your average, middle-of-the-road conservative.  Except for Fred.

But the powers that be would have us believe that Fred is all but out of the race.  That may be a self-fulfilling prophecy if we let them convince us and deny Fred our support now.

So again: Click. Dig deep.  Contribute.

It’s now or never.

Sad to say it, but I think he’s written off New Hampshire, and that’s probably not a deft move.

I agree, though it’s sad that New Hampshire and Iowa are so important.  It shouldn’t be that way.

By the way, where the heck have you been?  I’m not even sure you’re allowed to comment here any more, stranger.

Rob,

Besides being conservative and laid back, what exactly are Thompson’s qualifications to be POTUS?

Give me 5 and I’ll send money to your boy today.

P.S., Averaging 6% in the first 6 contests, flat broke, never even mentioned as a serious contender anywhere.  What does this tell us?  EXPERIENCE MATTERS!  Why can’t you people see that?

Well, Bill, I’d still like to know where he gets a rep for being CONSERVATIVE?

Not from voting NOT GUILTY for Bill Clinton’s PERJURY, and now, these days, trying to pass THAT off as a FOUNDING FATHERS principle....and THAT from a FORMER PROSECUTOR, and the deposition in question having been internationally broadcast LIVE, with world leaders saying THEY were anxious to see what JUSTICE meant to the World’s Policeman when it applies to a HOMELAND situation…

NOT from promoting and pushing McCain Feingold Thompson, and now commenting that it still needs some tweaking to take care of some problems with campaign funding, but other than that, he says he stands by it just fine…
and tries to avoid full credit for the issues ads clause of it...and refuses to discuss the huge promotion of the Joseph Stalinist Socialist idea that Christians “aren’t supposed to be allowed” to express POLITICAL OPINIONS???????????????
HOW DID THAT ONE PASS HIS FOUNDING FATHERS WIFF TEST??????????? The same way that the PERJURY CHARGE NOT RISING TO THE LEVEL OF IMPEACHMENT DID???

[6 major Evangelical ministries are being investigated for removal of their tax exempt status by the IRS based on McCain Feingold, for folks that are “politically interested” in things like abortion, adoption, and the unConstitutional promotion of the homosexual agenda in Public Schools without a concensus by the American people, and Creationism, etc - including such ministries as Rod Parsley and Joyce Meyers]
[NOT being investigated likewise would be Obama’s home church, Rainbow Coalition, ACLU, Planned Parenthood, along with hundreds of Black Liberal “churches” which serve as Dim Party politician platforms EVERY ELECTION SEASON]

NOT for being McCain’s butt buddy and Prexy Campaign 2000 campaign manager - when the Arizona GOP CAUCUS unanimously CENSURED McCain the last time he won re-election for the Senate - DUE TO DIM VOTES - and they tried to get the National GOP Committee to also censure him - and his track record shows he would have gladly supported McCain in the Gang of 14

NOT for chairing the Senate committee that was SUPPOSED to investigate the Clinton’s proclivity for getting CHINESE CAMPAIGN DONATIONS - which he turned instead into a FAIR AND BALANCED attack on “miscreant”??? GOP members, by deciding the committee needed instead to find matching “bad deeds” by BOTH PARTIES, instead of CLEANING HOUSE where the STENCH was overwhelming, first, and then going on to set things right where ever they fall.

And the list of GOP miscreants was paltry and pathetic compared to taking CHINESE MONEY and selling off top classified defense secrets to the CHINESE!

Doesn’t bother Mr. Thompson, the FORMER PROSECUTOR!
What is he, anyway? A frat brother and fellow club member at the local gym and glad-handing back-slapping gym locker???

I’m extremely interested in American Justice, just like world leaders of other nations - and I am a person who should be absolutely THRILLED to see a CONSERVATIVE FORMER PROSECUTOR get to the White House.
But this guy makes Johnny Sutton look like The Lone Ranger, and a GOOD GUY!

I’m from Texas, and you know how we feel about Picante Sauce made in New York City.
I don’t like the cut of Thompson’s jib.

Maybe he should go work for Hugo Chavez - looks like MORE HIS STYLE to me!

(I ain’t the only Conservative who feels this way about Fred!)

Re: Where I’ve been…

Busy with work. Since going full time with the National Guard, I’ve had very little free time. I commute 3 hours a day, and travel a lot for my professional education.

As an aside, I think our next annual training is in North Dakota.

You will, I hope, be getting in touch with me for a meet-up if that’s true.
