Fred Needs More Money

The second day of the Fred Thompson blogburst continues. The campaign hasn’t quite reached its fund raising goal yet, which is exactly why those of you who haven’t contributed yet (and some of you who haven’t contributed all that you can) need to crack open your wallets and make this happen.
I know we staunch conservatives tend to be a little…stingy…with our money. We hoard it, choosing only to make expenditures on prudent and well-thought-out investments. Well, think of a contribution to a candidate like Fred Thompson as an investment in staunch conservative leadership for America.

There is simply no other candidate in the field as principled, not to mention free of the baggage of scandal and flip-flops on the issues, as Fred Thompson.
It’s now or never, folks. Let’s make this count.
Update: Just got this from the Thompson campaign:

We did it! Together, we raised enough money to get Fred’s new television ad on the air in Iowa! Watch the ad titled “Substance” and make a donation today so that we can keep it running statewide through the Caucus on January 3rd. We’ve raised $162,865 so far from 2282 contributors who have given an average of $70 each. We are within $86,000 of meeting our goal of $248,846.
Today, we are asking for 2200 supporters of Fred to give a donation of $40 each to put us over the top and keep us on the air through January 3rd. Will you donate $40 today?

We’re almost there. Just 2,200 contributions of $40 to put Fred over the top.
There’s got to be at least a couple of dozen readers of this blog who can spare $40 for Fred.

    Rob,

Honestly, I would love to contribute, but I already spent all my money for a ticket on the Titanic.

We hit the goal. Now I have to start saving for the next hurdle.
