Forget Fraudulent Campaign Fund Raising, Feds Looking Into Leak Of Obama’s Illegal Immigrant Aunt

Because that’s where the real story is, obviously.

WASHINGTON – The government is investigating whether any laws were broken in the disclosure that Barack Obama’s aunt was living in the country illegally.
Obama’s half aunt, who is from Kenya, was ordered to leave the United States years ago after an immigration judge denied her request for asylum, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss the case.
The woman, Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), is living in public housing in Boston and is the half-sister of Obama’s late father.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement asked its inspector general and the Office of Professional Responsibility on Saturday to investigate whether any policies were violated when information about Onyango’s case was publicly disclosed, ICE spokeswoman Kelly Nantel said. The Homeland Security Department, which oversees ICE, cannot disclose details about an individual’s immigration status.

Of course the media that made Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy national headlines would take this angle on the story. Forget Obama’s “I am my brother’s keeper” hypocrisy. Forget his aunt’s illegal contributions to his campaign, which highlights his campaign’s lax fund raising security which has allowed a ton of illegal, anonymous contributions flow into his campaign. No, let’s focus on how the media found out about the aunt.
Funny that they never worry about this stuff when high-ranking government bureaucrats are leaking national security information to the press.
Frankly, if the media had been doing their job in vetting Obama, we’d have found out about her long ago.

Why don’t the lefties get it. It does matter that people that shouldn’t vote are voting. It does matter that people that don’t live in the USA are donating money to NOBAMA’s campaign. Of course they will look at it after the election or probably not…

Don’t you have a blog, bob, where you can talk about whatever your heart desires?

Probably can’t find that with both hands, either!

I wonder if this woman is/was registered to vote & if so, had she voted?
I wonder how she got into the p;ublic housing without being a citizen?

I don’t see any illegality, likwidshoe (except by the person that falsely swore under penalty of perjury that the information s/he submitted was correct). Neither does Powerline or the Corner, either, apparently.

If there’s some statute the Obama campaign is violating, I must have missed it. I’m always happy to be corrected, though.

I don’t see why the illegal contribution is an issue at all. The contribution was made, the Obama campaign gave it back.

Where’s the scandal in following the law? Eight years of President Bush has made abiding the law seem somewhat odd, but we shouldn’t forget that the rule of the law is something to strive for, not something to abandon as quaint.

For weeks, Republican leaders have warned that widely reported problems with fake voter registrations could result in a flood of phony votes in pivotal states.

But Ronald Michaelson, a veteran election administrator and member of the McCain-Palin Honest and Open Election Committee, said in an interview that he could not name a single instance in which this had occurred.

“Do we have a documented instance of voting fraud that resulted from a phony registration form? No, I can’t cite one, chapter and verse,” he said.

…Republican elected officials and lawyers for state Republican parties have made similar claims in court and in statements to the press. So far, however, they have failed to provide significant supporting evidence.

and court after court has thrown the bums out.

And there’s “realitybased”bob, totally off topic yet again.

Don’t you have a blog, bob, where you can talk about whatever your heart desires?

    You do, don’t you?

jpe – I don’t see why the illegal contribution is an issue at all.

Because it is an extension of this.

Eight years of President Bush has made abiding the law seem somewhat odd…

You say that, but it just comes off as a sorry excuse.

Leave it to liberals to want proof of voter fraud before election day.

They want the proof after the election, when it doesn’t matter. Right? Because even if it comes out that tens of thousands of fraudulent votes were counted, nothing short of a coup will get Obama out of the White House.

    Right boob?

    Nice strategy.

If it doesn’t matter who we register to vote, then why do we register at all? Why does vote fraud have to actually happen before we can conclude that voter registration fraud is a bad thing?
