Forbes’ Top Ten Pundits List A Farce

Forbes apparently (though “allegedly” would be a better word) did some research and came up with who they think are America’s “top ten pundits.” Here’s the list:

  1. Roger Ebert
  2. Bill Maher
  3. Bill O’Reilly
  4. Al Franken
  5. Geraldo Rivera
  6. Rosie O’Donnell
  7. Leonard Maltin
  8. Greta Van Sustern
  9. Lou Dobbs
  10. Bill Walton

No Rush Limbaugh? No Sean Hannity? But Al Franken? Rosie O’Donnell?
Who are these people trying to kid? Rush Limbaugh has somewhere between 25 – 30 million daily listeners and he ranks behind Rosie O’Donnell who doesn’t even have a show now? Not to mention behind Bill flippin’ Walton?
Did they just pull these names out of a hat or what?

    That is an emotional based form of arguing, not a logical one.

    In political satire(which is what Ann does), they are not mutually exclusive, so you have made a false dichotomy. Ann harpoons the sacred cows of the left with both logic and emotional barbs. Unlike Rosie, who uses emotional barbs with no logical argument whatsoever. The comparison is not an apt one.

    Nice non sequitur. I didn’t say she was lying when she described somebody masturbating into a sink, merely that it was a vulgar thing to do. She delights in that sort of thing (er, I mean being vulgar not the other) and that’s also a matter of public record as well.

    “No vulgarity” applies if we think describing, for example, the act of masturbating into a sink is not vulgar.

    As to “logical”…she may have the capacity for logical argument, and I would even agree she often uses it. And logical thinking is certainly something Rosie O’Donnell is entirely incapable of. But Coultier more often uses shock tactics (a form of rhetorical argument) to get her point across. That is an emotional based form of arguing, not a logical one.

    Any reason she needed to bring it up? No doubt you would be defending her if she described how Clinton wipes his ass, too. After all, as long as she’s accurate about his technique, nothing to complain about there, right?

    Gee, maybe she’d be invited back to CPAC next year? She’s made herself somewhat of a pariah with the mainstream conservative movement with her shock-jock tactics.

    Al Franken? People don’t pay nearly as much attention to him as they used to. He’s slowly becoming a washed up has-been shell. Stuart Smalley really went downhill.

    Where is John Stewart? Can he be called a “pundit” yet? He has ten times the audience Franken had.

    First let’s examine your (lack of) arguments: Anyone you can’t refute, you call names. This probably stems from your jealousy of successful Republican politicians and broadcasters. (Success envy- get over it!)
    Second, What’s with the fixation on conservative commentators? I seldom, if ever listen to Limbaugh or Hannity. I never listen to Bill O’Reilly and never seen Hannity and Colmes. And yet, every left-tard that wanders through here tries to diss every conservative commentator they can think of (and the list is longer than liberal commentators, because frankly…nobody’s ever heard of them! ) and use that in lieu of an argument!

    Left-tards accuse conservatives of being in “lock step” with one another, yet they show up here spouting the exact same talking points as every other liberal. Is the repetition comforting to you? Is there no original thought on the Left?

    Yes, I thought I made it clear when I said they weren’t mutually exclusive, which the word “versus” would indicate. You framed them as a pair of opposites, which is a false dichotomy for what Ann does. She combines the two.

    Limpbaugh has nowhere near 30-40 million listners! Try 13-14 million! Anyway it says more about the metality of the listeners than the addicts popularity!     Carrick: I have never made any secret of my affection for AC. After I pointed out that Ann tells the truth, and Rosie lies, Anna denied that she commented on what Ann said, and I called her on it. Remember the original statement? It was an attempt to make an equivalence between Ann and Rosie, and I spoke to that. The John Edwards comment was about Isaiah Washington being made to go to rehab because he called one of his fellow actors a “faggot”, and I thought she was very accurate and pointed in her comment. You should know this. Your very selective choice of her comments(in order to cast her in a bad light) is revealing, and less than I would have expected from you.

    Ann Coulter doesn’t represent this conservative, but the point is that Ann’s probably a lot more influential than Al Franken. At least people read her books. What was Air America’s ratings again?
