Firefighter Sexual Harassment

In yesterday’s St.Paul Pioneer Press is this story: Firefighter alleges sexual harassment. If one just read the headlines would assume that it’s just another story about a guy harassing a gal. But wait a moment, this story is about a lesbian – and not just any lesbian but a Minneapolis Fire Department Chief – who happens to be harassing other fire department Captains who also happen to be women.
A couple of things come to mind here:
One is that fire fighting is very physically demanding which was why there historically hasn’t a lot of women in the profession. Either the requirements have been drastically lowered or these women are all potential NFL line backers.
The other thing that caught my attention is how women have caught up to men in most areas including depravity.
Anyway the article is worth a few chuckles and maybe grimaces as well.

    Looks to me like Ms. Bleskachek is working towards same sex polygamy! Over the last 15 years these kinds of cases have been surfacing, mainly in the military, though fire depts. seem to be taking the lead. Seems to me there were 2 or 3 stories of this nature in the DC-Northern Virginia region last year.

    http://www.fraterslibertas.com has an interesting bit on this.  Long & short of it is that the appointment of this woman (who looks pretty masculine in the pic) occurred right after a woman was rejected as police chief, and the diversity crowd had their guns loaded for bear.  So there is at least reason to suspect….

    I had to do a ‘virtual’ double take after reading this on Friday.  But I think Rob is right, as the gender and sexual orientation lines grow more and more relevant, this behavior which was once dominated by men, no has some new players.  It is kinda strange though.
