GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota department of athletics is proud to announce a new partnership with Fox College Sports (FCS) that will allow national distribution of all telecasts produced by the Fighting Sioux Sports Network.

Fox College Sports is available on cable in 54 million homes nationwide.

“This is a significant step in both promoting our program on a national scale and giving Fighting Sioux fans across the country the ability to watch our games live from their living rooms,” UND director of athletics Brian Faison said. “This agreement between UND athletics and Fox College Sports could not have happened without the cooperation of our partners at Forum Communications and Midcontinent Communications. We are grateful for their commitment to helping us reach our goals.”

Fox College Sports will distribute three home football games, all home men’s hockey games and 12 home basketball games in 2009-10. FCS will also broadcast the weekly Sioux Sports Extra magazine show.

WOW!  This is quite the coup for us.  The Fighting Sioux Home Hockey games will be seen nationwide.  I don’t think there’s another program that can match this.  Take the Minnesota Gophers, one of the premier national hockey powers.  Not all of their games are even seen live on the local Fox Sports Channel.  As often as not they are bumped by the Minnesota Wild or the Timberwolves.

For those of you with Direct TV I believe you can see these games on channel 617.  It will likely take the sports package in order to view.

If you do tune it watch for me at all of the games.  I’ll be the guy with the bow tie.
