Fear Mongering: Global Warming Will Give You AIDS
That’s right. AIDS.
CLIMATE change is the latest threat to the world’s growing HIV epidemic, say Australian experts who warn of the “grim” outlook in the fight against the infectious disease.
A leading professor of health and human rights, Daniel Tarantola, has cautioned that global warming will indirectly make citizens of developing countries even more vulnerable to death and severe ill health from HIV/AIDS.
“It was clear soon after the emergence of the HIV epidemic that discrimination, gender inequality and lack of access to essential services have made some populations more vulnerable than others,’’ said Prof Tarantola, of the University of NSW.
The left is always accusing the right of fear mongering when it comes to national security and the war on terror, but what is telling people that climate change will give you AIDS? As Ace notes:
The left is fond of screaming that the right fills the public with “fears,” but they’ve been fear-mongering for 50 (100?) years themselves. The difference? Al Qaeda really did blow up the WTC and Pentagon. But global warming is not going to give you AIDS.
What will give you AIDS is promiscuous sex, but the liberals say we have to hand out condoms instead of teaching abstinence.
