Even John Kerry Annoyed By ‘Betray Us’ Ad

Via HotAir we find that John Kerry, incredibly, is criticizing MoveOn's ridiculous 'Betray Us' ad. Kerry called the ad "over the top" [ed. - ya think?] and “I don’t like any kind of characterizations in our politics that call into question any active duty, distinguished general . . . who I think under any circumstances serves with the best interests of our country.”

When you've lost Waffles, you know you're in trouble.

Just keep posting about this and it will soon become a house hold name for people who didn’t know the General’s name before.

People are probably already asking which general betrayed us.

Hey ews48, we don’t play ‘hide your head in the sand’ in the blogosphere.

Got it?

John Kerry in 6 mos: “I was against the ad before I was for it”.

How could he betray them - he was never with those sorry ass, military-hating, defeatest lefties.

Yeah, they (the lefties) pretty much have a lock on betrayal.

One of the most important talents for success in politics is the ability to make utter nonsense sound not only plausible but inspiring. Barack Obama has that talent. We will be lucky if we escape the catastrophes into which other countries have been led by leaders with that same charismatic talent.

It is an incredibly bad ad.  No one especially a leader of the military should be accused of betrayal, period. And that includes Keith Olberman.

We can disagree on the war but I don’t believe that anyone is being treasonous because they support or oppose the war.

The rhetoric should be toned down on both sides.  The behavior my some in the audience today at the hearings was appalling and uncalled for and I’m glad they were arrested.  You can protest all you want but take it outside or face the consequences.

I find it interesting that the NY Times would accept the ad from Moveon.org There were papers that would not accept the Swift Boat ads in 2004 because they were controversial.  As far as I know it was not the NY Times, but the newspapers seem to be selective in whose ads they will/won’t run.  The word shameful for the Betrayus ad does not come close to what it is.  A pox on Moveon.

Puzzle,

In the realm of politics, there is probably very little that you and I would agree on… from philosophical basics to the practical, day-to-day, nuts and bolts.

So it gives me all that much more pleasure to congratulate you on your comment above condemning the MoveOn.org ad.  For a devout liberal such as you, this is an act of integrity and courage and one which should not be dismissed or overlooked.

General Petraeus is an honorable professional whose service to this country has earned him far better than to be labeled a traitor by those who disagree with his mission.

As far as I can tell, as of this morning not one of your party’s leading candidates for president has said anything to distance herself/himself from this slander.  You have.

Congratulations!

Dems outnumber.
Kerry is a freakin’ VET, guys. Of COURSE he’s going to hesitate when it comes to Petraeus.

(Chances are high someone who has been under a rock will cite Swiftboat Vets I am sure, not realizing their whole story fell apart)

Robin,

On the off chance that you might actually know something of what you’re talking about (think sno-cones in hell, or John Kerry’s 1968 Christmas in Cambodia!), I will look forward to your detailed explanation of how and why the Swiftboat Vets’ story “fell apart.”

Of course to do that, you’ll have to explain just what it was the Swiftboat Vets actually said about Kerry.

Personally, I believe John Kerry is a congenital liar, a traitor to his country and to everyone else who served in Vietnam, a pompous ass, and one of most ineffectual public officials this country has ever had the misfortune to endure.  But that’s just one man’s opinion, of course.

Make that two men.

John Kerry could have proved the Swift Boat Veterans false if his sealed records demonstrated that.  He refused to reveal them, which isn’t in his favor, and the Swifties remain unrefuted.  Like all other lefties, RC, you swallow the MSM KoolAid without thinking, like mind-numbed robots.  Propaganda will do that to you.

If govt control of the economy were the way to go, the Soviet Union would be the richest, most powerful nation in the history of the world.

Thanks to Obama, America remains the only country where it is illegal to drill our own oil!

Kerry called the ad “over the top”...

Not even strong criticism; sounds more like a movie review.

R108,

I figured you’d show up… just as I would have done if you’d got to Robin Crenshaw’s comment first.  What kept you?

No doubt the others will be here in the morning.

As expected, Robin Crenshaw has not returned to defend last evening’s gratuitous nonsense about the Swift Boat Vets and John Kerry.
