Even The National Democrat Party Is Pretending Heidi Heitkamp Is An Independent
5:42pm
Earlier this month Democrat Senate candidate told The Economist that she thinks of herself as “more of an independent voice” than a Democrat. Yesterday, during a debate with her opponent Rick Berg, Heitkamp was busy doing her best impression of Sarah Palin. Now even the national Democrat party is referring to Heitkamp as an “independent.”
Here’s a new ad from the DSCC featuring a Democrat operative from here in North Dakota explaining why she supports the “independent” Heidi Heitkamp over Rick Berg.
The lengths to which Heidi Heitkamp and her party are going to disguise the fact that she shares a common ideology and partisan affiliation with the likes of Harry Reid and Barack Obama are almost humorous.
Here’s reality: Heidi Heitkamp is not Sarah Palin. She’s not a Republican or even an independent. She’s a liberal Democrat who has benefited from hundreds of thousands of dollars in political spending by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and his Super PAC.
Reid and the Democrats want Heitkamp in the Senate not because she’ll be “independent” but because she’ll be a loyal liberal foot soldier.
