Employment Prospects Worsen Under Obama Regime

From Associated Press and the US Department of Labor:

WASHINGTON – Finding a job got much tougher last year, as the number of available openings fell by nearly one quarter.
At the same time, the unemployed population soared by more than one-third, leaving more laid-off workers competing for fewer jobs.
All told, there were 6.1 unemployed workers in December, on average, for every available position, according to Labor Department data released Tuesday.
That’s a sharp increase from 3.4 jobless workers per opening in December of 2008, and much worse than the 1.7 unemployed people per opening in December 2007, when the recession began.
There were 2.5 million jobs available at the end of December, according to the Labor Department’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover survey. That includes all jobs publicly listed by companies and government agencies.

So not only have the number of unemployed Americans skyrocketed this past year, but the number of job openings has shrunk dramatically at the same time.
Obama-nomics. It ain’t working!

The policies and statements on the economy of Obama show he is deliberately sabotaging the economy. Obama is on record saying that he thinks its wrong for the USA with 5% of the worlds population to consume 20% of the worlds resources.

Obama is taking us down to 3rd world status with out considering the rule of unintended consequences. With the larger 20% of resources we “consume” the USA virtually feeds the world as a profit motivated capitalist society. Downsizing our economy will result is world hunger and more misery.

Obama is not exactly mentally stable and seems to have a very narrow idiological focus. In short, Obama is bat shyt crazy and doesn’t care that he is screwing the USA and the world.

  • sayanything-342

The Obama malaise in America is real. The nations of the world can sense it, we can sense it. The tension is thick. Something big will happen soon. If Obama is put to the test we will all lose.

  • robert108

I certainly agree that the foundation of this Obama recession was built with the Dem takeover of Congress, but the actual manifestation took place one-third of the way through Q4 of 2008, when Obama’s election turned a slight downturn into the real thing.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

I disagree. That’s when the recession began when the Democrats took the
house and senate. The Depression was when they took the whitehouse and got
    overwhelming majorities in Congress.

  • farm4money

    dino said,
They need more suffering, more pain. Just wait for that next downturn. It’s going to make the last one look like a picnic. We’re on a country death spiral. Only a matter of time.

so what YOU are saying is that YOUR democrat president and YOUR democrat congress are going to make things much worse. Your words, not mine.

You believe in abortion, why don’t you give your mother a passed term abortion by going for a walk on the freeway during rush hour.

  • sayanything-203

    R108,

That November 2007 date is a ubiquitous lie. I’m still waiting for a “progressive” who can actually define what constitutes a recession. Apparently, none of them are that smart.

  • sayanything-342

Every time dino posts I envision him sitting at his PC, munching on a bowl of frozen dog turds, and popping anti depressants like candy M&M’s.

The mood of the nation reflects Obama’s poor performance. The people will turn against him after the 2010 midterm elections. He will leave office with the same shame as jimmy carter.

  • robert108

It is illustrative of the almost universal economic ignorance among the lefties. Just about every economic textbook contains the “two consecutive quarters of negative growth” standard, which is why it’s called a “textbook example”, I guess.

  • robert108

Good article, Bat! My only quibble is the repetition of the falsehood that the recession began in Dec 2007. This Obama recession really kicked into gear when he got elected in the beginning of Nov 2008.

  • sayanything-15427

No gun to the head, but balls in a vice yes. I was “whipped” by my liberal (now ex) wife at the time and I regret the decision to try home ownership when I knew we werent ready for it. I admit, I was wrong, but I never would have gotten that loan if CRA hadn’t forced banks to slacken their requirements and overlook things. I’m not saying I have no fault in it, just saying it was the liberal in my marriage that drove us to overreach, and it was the lax lending practices that let us do so.

BTW, thankyou for admitting that either A) at least 50% of america is Republican or B) 50% of those who work are republican. The latter which means that if the dems do outnumber us, that the rest of them are all leaches and layabouts.

It was getting boring without you around, by mymy havent you come back just overflowing with hatred and bile. I hope you don’t get acid reflux.

Instead of just making imbecile remarks all the time, which is all you ever do, why don’t you tell us what you like about Obama? Prove you aren’t an imbecile, if you can.

  • sayanything-9974

It is all part of the Obamanomics program. They don’t like to waste a good crisis. They are also skilled at creating crisis and blaming Bush. Obama has done everthing possible to make things worse and creating another government disaster. This government can not solve our problems – Democrap Government (socialism) is the problem.

  • sayanything-2804

But then all the insane people left will be standing around in the dark with their thumbs up their…. Oh, I get it. Ha, Ha, Ha. Good one.

  • sayanything-1317

And all those liberals who voted against the policies you hate. They’re just collateral damage.

My god, you’re garbage. Do something positive for humanity and kill yourself.

  • sayanything-4808

“Don’t you have a Torah to read or something?”

I did. That’s another reason I’m a sane and good person and you’re a diseased degenerate.

You have no conscience, no empathy, no sympathy, and no caring, not even for yourself. You’re a loathsome spiteful wretch and have absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever.

  • bikebubba

Lock’em’up, the first step to recovery is admitting we have a problem. And, of course, with Mdme. Pelosi and Mssrs. Reid and Obama in charge, we certainly do.

Or, to paraphrase Ronaldus Maximus: “A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose your job. Recovery is when Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama lose theirs.”

  • sayanything-4416

Don’t you have a Torah to read or something?

  • sayanything-4416

And you and yours and those like you will get nowhere. You’ll receive more punishment for your ignorance as you have already received from the last round of conservatism.

Republicans can’t and won’t fix what’s wrong with this country. This cesspool is ungovernable.

The USA faces one of not more, lost decades until it finally dissolves and goes away.

Look around. The angriest, most vocally frustrated are the white, middle class conservatives who were duped by republicans. I love that!

  • sayanything-7406

“It doesn’t bother me that conservatives celebrate bad news. I expect as much from such awful, vile subhumans.”

Then you yourself are one of those “awful, vile subhumans”.

  • sayanything-4416

Did you get repo’ed before or after Obama? Did someone hold a gun to your head and make you live beyond your means?

  • sayanything-7406

Yes, Liberals act as if whenever you point out the failures of their policies you are somehow “celebrating” the bad effects they cause.

  • sayanything-7406

You act like I agreed with everything Bush ever did or something. I’ve said before that I did not like the fact that he spent so much money.

But that does not change the fact that Obama is also spending money in record amounts and is also piling up debt. That you never answer that proves that it is you who is in ignorance.

And if you’re going to celebrate the undeserved suffering of others (class enemies as you might call them) then you are also a hypocrite to criticize Conservatives for supposedly “celebrating” bad news.

  • sayanything-1317

Gotcha. So it’s awesome that people are out of work because at least half are Republicans.

I have a bottle of bleach that’s begging you to drink it jackass.

  • sayanything-7406

“If you were such a stupid little fascist you’d realize that the government always has to spend a lot of money to rescue the economy and the people in a downturn.”

Indeed, if I was a “stupid little fascist” I probably would think that the government has to spend money to save the economy. Government oversight of the economy is a fascist idea. Read “The Doctrine of Fascism” by Mussolini.

“A downturn that started over a year before he took office.”

As I’ve said already President Bush does share some of the blame. But a larger portion of that blame goes to Liberal policies which aim to take a free market economy and hijack it for social engineering purposes.

“But you’ll never get it. Your kind never does. That’s why I’ve taken to actually enjoying the anger and fear I see among the ignorant white trash. The tantrums, the child-like belief that there’s some magic that will rescue us from the upcoming decades of decline.”

There’s nothing to get. Tantrums? No, I don’t have any of those, the same for fear. Yes I’m angry at certain things. But my anger is well placed and directed only at those responsible. Not their families or their future children. The same cannot be said for you. As for “child-like belief” in magic, no I don’t have that either. I believe that restrained, sensible government will free the economy, give it room to breathe so to speak.

“Stupid people think government should stop spending, cut taxes and still spend 3/4 of s trillion dollars a year on defense in a deep recession when revenues are dropping like a rock.”

I never said government should stop spending. Taxes are a fact of life and one that I have absolutely no problem with. What I do have a problem with is when taxes are not spent on the legitimate, constitutional functions of government. The byzantine layers of bureauocracy being just one example. You assume that all government spending is legitimate, it’s not. And I agree that military spending is way too high. The US does not need so many military bases around the world for instance, and that’s just one example. You claim Republicans are stupid. Very well then, please explain to me what it is about Obama that you like.

“The republicans who took charge during good times and still managed to DOUBLE the debt, creating as much debt in 6 years as the country had in the previous 200+ years.”

Once again, Obama is only increasing that debt. How can you justify that? If it was wrong for Bush to spend so much money then it is also wrong for Obama to spend so much money. Besides, Bush increased welfare spending more then Clinton did. Liberals like welfare spending so just what kind of spending is it that you don’t like?

  • sayanything-4416

That’s the funny thing. You people actually think you’ll escape unscathed.

  • sayanything-4416

I’m celebrating things like the guy I heard on the NPR call-in show who said he was a republican about to be foreclosed on. The people deserve this for their support of conservatism.

The sooner we can bring this country to its knees, the sooner we can destroy it. I mean that. There’s no fixing it. It’s gone.

Talk about scrapping it and starting over, that should happen to the whole awful land mass.

  • sayanything-3444

Unless or until the Federal Government, currently firmly in the hands of liberals/progressives, gets out of the mind-set that they can have a prosperous command-control economy this isn’t going to get any better. Let loose the dogs of free-market capitalism and watch how quickly this can turn around, if not, it’s only going to get worse before it gets worse.

“Go ask the Soviets, a very advanced culture at one time”

Are you kidding me? Advanced? Tell me, when were they ever advanced? Was it when Lenin, Stalin and Trostky supervised the mass slaughter of peasants? Was it when Stalin ordered the mass slaughter of Kulaks (so called “rich peasants”)? Was it when Stalin initiated the Great Terror and had millions of innocent people hauled off to the Gulags in Siberia simply because he had ordered the NKVD to fulfill quotas for people arrested? Was it the show trials? Was it the Holodomor in Ukraine which killed somewhere around 10 million people? Was it after World War II when instead of trying to feed his own people, Stalin set his priorities with obtaining nuclear weapons?

The Soviet Union has produced very little that will have any positive affect on any culture. Perhaps the films of Sergei Eisenstein but even he had to put up with a lot of government intrusion.

The history of the Soviet Union is one of atrocity that rivals Hitler’s Third Reich. The fact that you laud them as “advanced” shows how poor your grasp of history really is.

And I remember the last decade very well. I remember how after 9/11, far from “collapsing”, this country rallied together. Despite the bad economic situation this country still was able to send aid and relief to Haiti. Despite all your talk about an imminent collapse, this country will still pull through.

“Who got to space first? Whose weaponry was more advanced? Who controlled more of the earth?”

The Soviets got to space first but simply being the first to achieve something technologically does not make one morall just. The Nazis were the first to send a man made object into space, that sure doesn’t improve their image. Besides, who was the first to get to the moon? The US generally had better weaponry. Most Soviet technology was pitiful copies of western technology. The Soviets controlled much of that territory (especially the Eastern Bloc) through the use of force and terror, that says nothing good about them. In any event, what does technology, weapons and territory have to do with how advanced a culture is?

“Your tired myths about the supposed crimes of the Soviets are propaganda. If they were so awful, how come they’re not anymore?”

Myths? Hardly? These crimes are documented. The reason they don’t receive the attention that Hitler’s do is because Hitler’s were racially motivated while Stalin’s were mostly due to paranoia. Read “The Black Book of Communism” by Stephane Courtois and others. And when did I ever say or even imply that those crimes aren’t as hideous as ever?

“Does a change of governing ideology change someone from being a murderous savage into a potential trading partner?”

Stalin has been dead for over 50 years, the NKVD is long gone. The people responsible for those crimes don’t exist anymore and neither do the institutions they set up.

“Just like Vietnam. Oh, they were horrible, murderous people, right? Now American corporations put all their GAP clothing factories there.”

What does that have to do with anything?

“This country only pulled together briefly out of FEAR of an external force. Then, thanks to the conservatives, we turned on each other and haven’t turned away from hacking at each other. Even in Congress, collegiality is GONE. The parties HATE each other. And it’s just intensifying.”

It wasn’t fear it was anger. My point is that Americans have pulled together before and they will do so again. And how exactly did the Conservatives turn everybody against each other? As for Congress, I don’t doubt that some members of the parties may hate each other but so what?

“This country will most certainly NOT pull through. It’s over.”

You’re the only one saying this. The burden of proof is on you. What’s your evidence?

  • sayanything-1317

I’ve never looked at someone who voted liberal and said “you deserved to lose your job”. Granted, when they do, it’s expected, but I feel bad for them. Hell, I sympathize with my buddy who faces higher cigarette taxes because of his vote.

By contrast, you celebrate the destruction of people who share your ideology. You’re a f@cking cockroach. Get some sort of disease and die already you piece of trash,

  • sayanything-4416

At any rate, you weren’t alone. Lots of republicans and even those who voted republican at one time, the exalted “independents” (read, stupid people who keep looking for the magic politician), are feeling the hit, and its a hard one.

They need more suffering, more pain. Just wait for that next downturn. It’s going to make the last one look like a picnic. We’re on a country death spiral. Only a matter of time. The great thing? Republicans will only accelerate the decline.

  • sayanything-7406

  • sayanything-4416

If you can’t beat em, join em.

I want what you want. I just like seeing it happen to more republicans. And it is, if you look at the demographics affected and the recent behavior of people.

I mean, you don’t see liberals out protesting, throwing public tantrums like the extreme right wing teabaggers are doing. That right there tells me who is experiencing more pain and anxiety. And it makes me happy to see how angry and bitter the right wingers are. They’re pissed that they believed in the conservative movement and all they got was decimated 401ks and dropping home values. Nothing freaks them out more than seeing their money disappear. Nothing. The frustration of seeing their home values drop or just stop increasing is driving them crazy. Back in 2005 they were expecting to retire, sell it for a fortune and golf all day. Now many boomers won’t be able to retire. Lots of them voted for reagan. I laugh!

They can blame liberals, Obama, Carter, FDR and sunspots for their disappointment and anger. But the end result is the same. They get the shaft. Their kids get the shaft. And we deconstructionist liberals smile because we knew how things would turn out.

  • sayanything-4416

I’m not sure who you think you’re kidding.

You weren’t bothered by bush’s $5 trillion in debt, his unfunded Medicare drug bill, his record deficits, the 2 recessions while he as in office, the miserable job creation, the stock market crash in 2008, the housing collapse of 2007, the dramatic increase in job losses in 2008. You were oblivious to it all and have convinced yourselves that it all happened after Jan 2009.
