Eminem Lip Synching On SNL

Chris Short has this posted over at Backcountry Conservative.

Eminem is performing live on SNL tonight. Actually he isn't. Eminem just preformed his controversial yet catchy "Mosh". It was a flawless reproduction until he brought the mic to his waist while he was still "singing". So yes, even Eminem lip synchs on SNL.

The song carries an interesting message but after last weekend's Ashlee Simpson debacle I'm sure everybody caught Eminem's obvious mistake.

I didn't watch his performance of "Mosh," but I caught his last performance on the show and thought I saw a couple of moments where it didn't look like he was singing the words that were coming out of the speakers.

But I'd imagine that his songs are hard to perform live what with all the mixing and audio effects that go on. Maybe he had recorded versions of himself singing parts of the song he couldn't perform live. I don't know.

Anyone else notice this?

His second performance was somewhat live.  How do I know?  It was much “flatter” than his first performance.

I’m typically against regulation and interference. However, I feel that if a performance is being billed as live, or can be construed as being live by the average idiot, then if there’s lip-synching going on the show should put up a “Not performed live” banner.

Let’s just call it a truth-in-advertising issue.

As a music guy, I don’t care whether M&M lip-syncs or not, because it’s all the same: no talent live, or no talent taped. Then end result is still degenerate excrement.

Sorry for the harshness, but hey wink

He’s on SNL… Unless you are in the Audience, then it’s a canned performance anyway.  Who cares of he lip syncs…

I am not one of his fans.  If his fans think it is an issue then he will feel it in his royalty checks.  I don’t provide a dime to him as it is, and do not plan to.  But, I don’t think his fans are going to be upset with his “deception” in the performance if they are not upset by the deception in the music.
