Ed Shultz Driving Away MSNBC Viewers Faster Than You Can Say Blowhard

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Damn, I was hoping he was leaving North Dakota for good.

Initial viewership figures haven’t provided reason to cheer, at least not yet. Debuting on Monday to an average audience of 247,000 in the 25-54 demographic and 725,000 overall, by Wednesday that figure had dropped to 119,000 and 406,000, respectively.
During yesterday’s radio program, Schultz himself had this to say:
SCHULTZ (43:40): Appreciate all your emails and your support. The, ah, early numbers that have come in for ratings have not been bad, I might say. I wouldn’t say we knocked it out of the park, but we’re, we’re getting there, we’re getting there.

You’re getting their Ed. You lost about half of your audience so far. You’re getting there.
The thing is that the guy just is rotten at what he does. I listened to him a lot when he was doing UND sports before I knew he had gone to the dark side. He’s just a poor announcer. No amount of hate the Republicans rhetoric is going to overcome that in the long run, even with the barking mad moonbats.

    Oh you mean this guy?

  • AR-15

Well, he speaks his mind and gets it done – with facts, not shrill, screaming scare tactics

FACTS??? Your hilarious! I’ve been on his show a # of times times and boxed him in like a rat every time. He’s just like Joel Ratkamp, quick to change the subject as soon as they start getting their partisan ass handed to them. which is pretty much every time someone with an average intelligence calls their horseshit program and challenges them.

  • bustoff

The right fears Ed Shultz….they are scared to death of him.

A lot of people are too frightened to watch his show on MSNBC, apparently.

    Quoting truthseeker:

Well, he speaks his mind and gets it done – with facts, not shrill, screaming scare tactics like Insanity (Hannity) or that Beck character.

You cannot be serious. Facts? yeah right. Not shrill or screaming? That’s the only way he talks.

Ed, did you sign up as truthseeker just to post here?

According the article Randy Rhodes has more morals than the Blow hard. http://radioequalizer.blogspot.com/2009/04/ed-schultz-tapped-for-second-tier-msnbc.html

LAMB: So these are business people in the…

RHODES: What it was, it was the best donors that the Senate could find for me. And this is the way Washington operates, so they were being kind.

LAMB: Did you like that when you saw that all of that?

RHODES: I hated it. I actually got on the air, and said I feel like I just got off the Amistad. I feel like I‘ve just been on the slave auction block. Now I know what it feels like to be auctioned off.

LAMB: What were they going to do with the money?

RHODES: They were going to start a syndication for us. They were going to give us, you know, the money we needed to start it up.

LAMB: And Ed Schultz (ph) is now on Air America.

RHODES: He took the money. I actually gave him the money that day. I stood outside. I did my broadcast in Washington that day. And I went downstairs and I said, you can have it. Whatever they raise, I don’t want it. I‘m just — first of all I‘m not going to be mouthpiece for the party. I don’t agree with a lot of the things that they say and do. And I need to be free to say so. I don’t walk — I’m not a Republican. I‘m not a trained sheep. I‘m not a lemming. I don’t just follow.

Liberal talk radio has almost no audience.

We just control the government. LOL

Liberal talk radio doesn’t appeal to our intellect. They try and bottom feed like the cons but it comes off as fake. We’re smarter, better and we don’t necessarily want to play in the gutter with you people. Even this blog is more intelligent than most con blogs which are a mess.

Probably because Rob doesn’t edit out the liberals.

Besides the Sgt Shultz character was likeable.

Ah! But both were equally clueless!

BRING ON THE DOG SHOOTER. When i first heard dumb eddie he was trying to be Rush. When i heard his sponsors were Farmers Union, the REA co-ops, and the RTC co-ops I knew he would soon change his stick to match what the democrats (his sponsors) wanted. I called him a broadcasting whore back then. He is someone who would say anything the sponsors wanted and not have any real principles of his own. But give him credit for knowing that he was never good enough to make it as a right wing host of which there were many good ones already, and move on.. .org …. But he did see there was no one on the left worth listening to and he might be able to make it there. Guess he wasn’t good enough to save air america though. He does need anger management classes before he shoots the dog or throws bottles again. I hope he stays where he is, ND doesn’t need him. Maybe he could take ” Me & ? ” Heidcamp with him.

I think Schultz is going to be back poluting the airways in ND soon.

Well, he speaks his mind and gets it done – with facts, not shrill, screaming scare tactics like Insanity (Hannity) or that Beck character. As for Randi Rhodes – where is she now? She’s in radio exile, obviously sour grapes. She never brought anything to the table and yes, she did have a loyal following. What I like about Ed is he lets anyone call in and lets them talk, he doesn’t talk over them or shout them down unless they start spewing absolute nonesense. I hope his TV show does well, but I enjoy his radio show much more.

Oh, but you left out the best part!

    From Radio Equalizer:

However, there’s one detail Schultz hasn’t revealed to his audience – a potential conflict of interest. As recently as 2008, Schultz received more than $20,000 from three separate AFL-CIO affiliated labor unions.

According to documents posted on the U.S. Department of Labor Web site, Schultz received $22,304 for his services – a fact picked up by J. Justin Wilson, managing director, Center for Union Facts. Those include:

    * Steelworkers – “Publicity/Advertising” – $10,000

    * Air Traffic Controllers – “Broadcasting Services” – $7,304

    * Plumbers Local 189 – “Event” – $5,000

And after those payments, guess what! Fat Eddie started pushing for the unions’ pet policies!

His own version of pay-for-play, I guess.

  • jimmypop

Schultz is pretty much a paid mouthpiece for the liberals.

no, hes a paid mouthpiece for anyone paying him.

Liberal talk radio has almost no audience. Rush, Levine, Hannity, Hewitt, Lars all have large audiences. The problem with politics in this country anymore is the leftist media propagandizing everyone and all the lazy slackers that all want o vote themselves a handout.

Rob it sounds more like he is the lap dog, towl boy and mouth piece. Big Eddy is prostituting himself to the dems. I find it funny that Randy Rhodes was disgusted by the whole thing. Ed must be bad then.

  • http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/ goon

Even more than Madow or Overbite? :) Wow, amazing.

I find it funny that Randy Rhodes was disgusted by the whole thing.

    nah, shes jealous.

Well you got to admire Overbite for finding a million or so completely rabid moonbats to stay sober enough to tune in his show.

The right fears Ed Shultz….they are scared to death of him.

Too funny! First, they have to hear about him and second, they’d probably have trouble telling him apart from this guy!

Uh yeah, sure you are. You are so smart you like to play with smelly buttholes. You are all degenerates that vote for a handout. You are a lazy pervert who wants to live off the rich.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

You quit comparing John Banner and Ed Schultz or I won’t be your friend anymore.

Besides the Sgt Shultz character was likeable.

As far as Eddie, I’d put him up in personality right up with the guy in front of Klink.

Roy, remember that Schultz’s national show got started with a fund raiser thrown by Democrats like Byron Dorgan and Dick Gephardt.

Schultz is pretty much a paid mouthpiece for the liberals.
