Ed Schultz Blows A Gasket After A Caller Compares Him To Rush Limbaugh
I’ve listened to Rush Limbaugh. I grew up listening to Rush Limbaugh. And friends, Ed Schultz isn’t fit to vacuum Limbaugh’s studio.
CALLER : You know, I listen to you talk about Rush Limbaugh and how awful he is. You’re becoming him, Ed. You’ve got to become ...
SCHULTZ: Now, you’re, you’re, you’re way over the top now. That is a personal shot. I am not a drug addict, you bastard.CALLER: Sounds like you’re drinking.
SCHULTZ: And how dare you call me that.
CALLER: It sounds like you’re drinking.
SCHULTZ: And how dare you call me that ...
CALLER: I didn’t call you a drug addict ...
SCHULTZ: How dare you, how dare you put me in what that scumbag who is a liar. I’m not a liar. Let me tell you, John, I am not a liar.
CALLER: Oh, I believe that you’re not a liar ...
For all of Schultz’s self-righteousness at Limbaugh’s struggles with drug addiction, at least Limbaugh has never gotten drunk and punched a woman in a bar.
The funny thing is, as childish as Schultz is, these little tirades are probably the centerpiece of his career now. I don’t think people so much tune in to Ed Schultz to hear brilliant political analysis as they tune in on the off chance that he might blow his top again and provide a few moments of extreme unintentional comedy.
Remember how, in the age before YouTube, they used to sell those videos of car crashes and animal attacks on television commercials? If somebody put together a video collection of all the times Ed Schultz has lost it I’d be the first in line to buy. Because I think that’s Schultz’s value to society at large.
He’s a car wreck that can be entertaining to watch at times.
