Earl Pomeroy Skips Out On Event In His Hometown For Big-Money, Out Of State Fund Raiser

You know that big-money, $2,500/person fund raising event for incumbent Representative Earl Pomeroy which is to be held at a posh resort in Pennsylvania?  Turns out it’s being held on the same date as the 125th anniversary celebration of his hometown’s founding (Earl is from Valley City, North Dakota).

Earl was supposed to attend that event, and even act as Grand Marshall in the town’s parade, but he called up the local Chamber of Commerce and said he couldn’t come.

Because it’s his mother’s birthday.  From a reader:

Turns out that Earl’s cancelled on his hometown Valley City 125th Anniversary Celebration to do the Nemacolin event. He was confirmed to be the Grand Marshall in the parade on Saturday, but he cancelled two weeks ago. He told the Chamber there that it’s “his mother’s birthday,” so he won’t be in town until Sunday.

Classy, Earl.  Real classy.
