Duane Sand Crashes Airplanes

Yikes…

Bismarck, N.D. (AP) North Dakota Republican congressional candidate Duane Sand crashed his plane on a trip to Fargo.

A campaign spokesman says Sand walked away from the crash Wednesday morning, and he wasn’t injured.

Campaign manager Matt Dabrowski says the engine on Sand’s plane failed. He crash-landed the aircraft in a farm field near Nortonville in LaMoure County, in southeastern North Dakota.

Sand was flying to Fargo for some meetings. Dabrowski says Sand owns the plane, and he wasn’t carrying any passengers.

Glad to hear Sand is ok.

I hope they are dusting the plane for any NPL fingerprints.

I hope that when he landed he did one of those Mary Lou Retton “Tada” things.

I think the problem is that Sand’s supposed to be a submarine guy.

The way Duane’s been treated by many within the Republican party, maybe they need to be dusting for GOP fingerprints.

Glad to hear he’s okay.  One of my 19 year olds just passed his commercial check ride yesterday afternoon.  He soloed at 16, got his private at 17, and his instrument and high-performance ratings at 18, so any time I hear about a small plane mishap of any kind, I get more than a little nervous.

I think there’s two ways to take that.

On one hand, I know many in the NDGOP are unhappy with Duane for sticking it to them on tax cuts, etc.  On that, I’m with Duane.

On the other hand, Duane rubs a lot of people the wrong way.  He doesn’t treat people very well some times, and at times it seems like he’s more out for Duane than the advancement of any specific political agenda.  From that perspective, sometimes it’s hard to like Mr. Sand.

What does Duane do that rubs people the wrong way?  I’m not trying to be skeptical, I just don’t really know him and haven’t been following his campaign closely.  And does anyone think he will win this November?  I would be nice to see a red state force out an uberliberal for once. Thanks

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

Anyone who challenges Nd’s three stooges in Congress is thought to threaten Nd’s take of income and assets from taxpayers in other states which the three stooges love to brag about bringing here.
Duane also has military service, which the three stooges avoided.

Let’s face facts: Duane is disliked by Gov. Hoeven and a bunch of “Republican” legislators because he took them to task over their lavish spending and lack of tax cuts during the last legislative session.

Sure, Duane can be a little “in-your-face”, but that’s the medicine these guys need.  I wish there were more like him (especially in Congress), and thank goodness that at least Duane’s still around after his unfortunate event with the airplane.

I don’t think you have to be likeable to be a leader.  I’m still going to vote for the guy because we need change in Washington, just not the Obama kind of change.
