Down Goes Roker!

Down Goes Al Roker

NAPLES, Fla. — “Today” show weatherman Al Roker knows the power of Hurricane Wilma all too well.
As a crew member held his ankles, Roker began to do a live report from Naples, Fla.
He had just started when a gust of wind suddenly blew him off his feet.
Roker was not hurt in the fall and was able to crawl to safety.

Down Goes Al Roker

Am I the only one who finds all the reporting the media does “from the midst of the storm” a little annoying? Every time there’s some storm to report on they’ve got some idiot standing out in conditions so bad you can barely make out what they’re saying anyway.
Its almost like its staged or something.
We get it. The weather is bad. Now go inside and report from a place where we can hear what you’re saying.

I know that the following comment is mean and believe me, I’m happy for the guy, but the first thing that comes to my mind is: Maybe he shouldn’t have lost all that weight?

Note to Al Roker and every other idiot hack meteorologist who feels the need to strap him/herself to a tree and report live, screaming into a microphone, wearing a network-logo-emblazoned Land’s End jacket, from whatever the Hurricane du Jour.

    WE.

    GET.

    IT.

    OK?

We get it already. This year, especially.

It’s windy. It’s raining. Stay inside.

Maybe you guys should follow your own advice for once.

‘course the other side is that they’ve had a few deaths in Iraq too.

I can’t stand the lengths to which these idiots will go to while reporting natural disasters. Like the whistler said above, its a news story when people stay and don’t adhere to calls for evacuation, but apparently these reporters/weathermen are above that.

Unfortunately, and this is harsh, it is going to take a serious injury or death for them to realize how stupid this is. I mean seriously, how many times do we need to be told that winds over 100MPH are strong and can blow things around with ease?

That’s ok, I was going to say we need fatter weathermen.

Actually I find it funny that they claim over and over that only an idiot would stay when evacuation is called for and then….they stay.
