Don’t get me wrong. I respect her for doing what she did for her family. But she is less of a viable candidate in the future due to her resignation.

    In my opinion of course.

Resigning one political office to take an appointment in a presidential administration is a huge promotion.

Quitting your first term as governor when it gets too hard, to travel around and whine about it is not.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

Good thing we found our way back again in November of 1980 when we elected Ronald Reagan President of these United States.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

There is a double standard, but you can’t really compare the situations.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

I really hated to point out your mistake Boob.

  • http://tldr.de/ Arecibo

I understand and am usually part of the cynicism. Can we not however give her credit where it is most likely to be due? Why should we doubt her reasoning?

Does anyone here disagree that when a person in power is not able to do their job, they should step down or solve the problem?

  • http://tldr.de/ Arecibo

Note that I am by all means not a TEAM SARAH! person.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

Arecibo, thank you for acknowledging that Palin was not an effective Governor and she knew it.

Let’s all give her credit for that.

Being a governor is just a job.

    Palin: I quit.

Falling back on the old “she did it for family!” routine. Now Mommy will be gone most of the time, traveling around, whoring herself out to nutjob rallies and groups of teabaggers while the little Down’s baby tries to nurse on the dog.

That should be good for them all!

  • studakota

So the Hens are still clucking away are they. Oh well, It’s human nature. After all, football teams do not lose sleep over third string running backs. It’s that All American, that can actually hurt them, they’re concerned about.

  • ellinas

No one called her a quitter when she was running for Vice President. Had McCain won the election and she quit as Governor of Alaska, no one would have called her a quitter.
You and other right wing hacks made up an issue out of a non issue.
    Stop the stupidity.

So, Sarah has the faggots crapping in their designer jeans as well! Go Sarah!

More vulgarity from a usual source.

Palin resigned from her job to take a spot in the Presidents cabinet? Oh wait she just quit because she felt like it. Like she quit the 5 colleges in 4 years.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

She quit her Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Chairwoman.

    It’s a pattern.

    She is an overreacher.

That might be a tiny bit of an exaggeration.

Even still, the whole she did it for her family routine is ridiculous. She signed up for a career and quit. If I did the same with a private firm, or if a client wanted me to design them posters and business cards and I decided a few months in that it was too much pressure, I wouldn’t be expected or chosen to take a more prestigious client. I’d be lucky if I got any client at all.

I knew there was another thing she quit, she has a history of quitting. It isn’t a history of completing a job and pursuing higher offices. It is a history of getting elected or put in better position and then quitting that position without completion of her duties to follow possible higher offices.

It would be naive to think she doesn’t plan on either a presidential or senate bid. Her signage of the 10th Amendment resolution was simply lip service to promote how anti-big government she is. All bark and no bite.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

Perhaps Americans can take comfort in that she realizes she is in over her head and gets out before causing an even bigger mess.

  • Flickertail

I am by no means a Palin fan, but the level of crap she gets from the media is on par with Clinton/Bush 2. She was a VP nomination, and still gets it from every liberal outlet, while Biden puts his foot in his mouth on almost a daily basis and gets by with it. I actually kinda feel sorry for her.

  • Flickertail

The republicans have lost their way, right now there is no conservative voice in the rep party that could run for President, maybe Jindal but he doesn’t want to run. I think we are in for a long run of the Dems holding control.

    No problem.

    Thank you for that.

When I am wrong I can admit it.

One down, 8218 posts to go, and tens of thousands of comments to go. Better get cracking, little parrot, if you are to admit all the times you have been wrong.

So if going for a higher office before completing a lower office is bad, then what is Obama? The runner has been in election after election after election. He gets elected to the Illinois House and starts running for a US rep. He loses but then runs for, and wins, the US Senate seat from Illinois. Then he immediately starts running for President.

Right but he didn’t quit until he had already been elected to those places.

What did she quit to do again?

Palin did not identify that she was pursing a higher office when SHE QUIT.

And as Rezistick points out, she quit (4) colleges. That is a disgrace within itself. She has a pattern as a quitter.

Are you really that flippin’ stupid? She hasn’t been appointed or elected to higher office or position. She’s quitting because she couldn’t handle what the office brought her. She’s a public figure who can’t handle being a public figure.

Does she (or any of you apologists) really think that the kitchen’s going to get any cooler if she’s the fuckin’ president? Get real. If the amount of pissing and moaning she does about mean people now…as governor…is any indication, she wouldn’t last through March as President.

As for the liberals being “afraid” of her as a “average American”…guess again smart guy. First, “average Americans” aren’t morons as the Republican talking point would suggest. Second, I’d consider personally donating to this bag of hammers’ campaign. I couldn’t think of a better bet for Liberal politics in 2012, aside from maybe Michelle Bachmann.

“Does anyone here disagree that when a person in power is not able to do their
job, they should step down or solve the problem?”

In that case, maybe the self-centered, incompetent, teleprompter reading idiot
who currently resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue should admit his failures and
resign now before he does more damage. In a matter of a few months, this buffoon
has done more damage to this country than his predecessor did in eight years. And Joe, Nancy pants,
Harry and the others should do likewise. Then again, these people and the
brain-dead ilk who support them are too dumb to know they are not able to do
    their job.

  • Jay

No, I’m pretty sure it’s because she’s got higher career aspirations and doesn’t want to cheat the taxpayers of Alaska while pursuing them on their dime.

So this is the line now? She’s the conscientious, self-sacrificial, scrupulous, antithesis of politics? She’s putting her own ass on the line for the sake of Alaska? Oh, how downright Maverick of her.

And you state that all of the ethics complaints have been proven false, therefore eliminating the ethical issues from contention as the mysterious “why oh why did she quit” analysis, right? Are you also saying, then, that she sucks at her job and realizes that it’s better to shove off in favor of a more competent official rather than have the people of AK suffer through even one more month of her blittering and blubbering.

Wow, you rubes sucked that one right up. So is it fair then to attach the reciprocal “fan boy” moniker to you poor bastards yet?

  • jimmypop

no, its not. youve gone from leader to lap dog.

  • http://insanereindeer.blogspot.com/ Kenny

Right but he didn’t quit until he had already been elected to those places.
What did she quit to do again?

She quit when she filed an ethics complaint against the commission.

Governor Murkowski appointed Palin to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.[56] She chaired the Commission beginning in 2003, serving as Ethics Supervisor.[57] Palin resigned in January 2004, protesting what she called the “lack of ethics” of fellow Republican members.[11][58]

After resigning, Palin filed a formal complaint against Oil and Gas Conservation Commissioner Randy Ruedrich, also the chair of the state Republican Party,[59] accusing him of doing work for the party on public time and of working closely with a company he was supposed to be regulating. She also joined with Democratic legislator Eric Croft[60] to file a complaint against Gregg Renkes, a former Alaskan Attorney General,[61] accusing him of having a financial conflict of interest in negotiating a coal exporting trade agreement,[62] while Renkes was the subject of investigation and after records suggesting a possible conflict of interest had been released to the public.[63] Ruedrich and Renkes both resigned and Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.[11][57]

So she quit because the commission was corrupt. Giving up a position of power in protest is a sign of strength, not weakness.

And as Rezistick points out, she quit (4) colleges. That is a disgrace within itself. She has a pattern as a quitter.

She transferred. That’s pretty different than quitting.

Dishonesty is a fun little tap dance I suppose.

It costs money to defend oneself against endless lawsuits or even false charges. Ask the Duke Lacross team. They certainly got hurt financially.

But hell, you keep on hating. Way to go Jay!

Thinking not in good so much your brain functions not.

    Carry her bags?

Dude I criticized Palin like crazy.

    Keep being stupid Jay.

  • stewartized

This really makes Libtards look more stupid than they already are. First, they hate Palin for even running, because she`s stupid, unqualified, ect.,ect. Then she leaves office, giving many a secret sigh of relief, and they call her a quitter. Can`t be pleased. If the Trillion Dollar Man quit office right now, the last thing i would do would be to criticize him. I`d be calling him the smartest man in the world. For realising that he`s too stupid to be president.

Money’s still on the table Robert. Haven’t ever lied about you.

You keep being stupid too R108. No reason to stop what you’re good at.

Being a governor is just a job. Living your life is a higher calling. It is the same thing and there is a double standard.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

So this is the line now?

It’s what she’s actually said, and if you’ve got anything to disprove it outside of your deep and abiding hatred of her, i’m all ears.

Would that more politicians (Obama, McCain, etc.) had that sort of integrity.

And she’s also sick of the ridiculous ethical filings, every single one of which has been dismissed.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

I like Sarah. I’m still not sure she’d be my first pick for 2012 (though I’d put her above Romney and Huckabee if I had to), but really the media/liberals do a lot to prop her up.

The viciousness and unfairness of her attacks make people who my not normally be sympathetic to her at all defend her just out of a sense of fairness.
