Don’t Obama’s Four Controversial Nominations Prove His Poor Judgment?

The spin from the Obama camp seems to be all about Obama “fighting the good fight” for “ethics” and “transparency” as public scrutiny of his three failed appointments (which should have been four with Geithner in a just world) ramps up. Obama himself told Charlie Gibson that Daschle’s withdrawal was “embarrassing” and “sends the wrong message.” And now this Politico story suggests that the withdrawal of Bill Richardson, Tom Daschle and Nancy Killefer proves that Obama’s job of bringing “accountability” and “ethics” to Washington DC is tougher than previously thought.

So it turns out Barack Obama is not immune to the laws of political gravity after all.
As Tom Daschle’s nomination for health and human services secretary slammed to a halt in a pile of broken glass, there was relief among Obama supporters, who will not have to defend a choice that was becoming increasingly hard to defend.
But the Daschle crash was only the latest episode amid several in recent days on a similar theme: Ushering a new era of accountability, civility, and ethics in Washington looks easier from the outside than from the inside.
Old Washington is colliding with the new White House on other fronts, as well.

The way that story casts things it makes it seem as though it’s the White House that’s fighting for ethics and accountability here, but how can that be when it was Barack Obama himself who nominated Richardson, Daschle, Geithner and Killefer? When it was Obama’s own vetting team that discovered Daschle and Geithner’s tax problems but went ahead and sent them out to be appointed anyway?
Obama isn’t the guy fighting for accountability and ethics. Obama’s the guy picking the tax evaders and kickback-takers for appointment.
And didn’t we know from the campaign that Obama had a problem with judging character? Let’s review the list.
Jeremiah Wright
William Ayers
Tony Rezko
Alexi Giannoulias
Rod Blagojevich, who Obama helped bet elected twice.
Now add Daschle, Richardson, Geithner and Killefer to the list and you have a long and storied history of bad decision making from Obama.
At what point does Obama get held accountable for that?

…same old, same old….American citizens lose, again and again and again…etc, etc, etc….

And for the first time in 8 years we have a president who can admit he made a mistake and make a change and learn from his lesson.

so did he learn on the first tax evader or the second?

  • Mickey

Chicago politics. This is the way they roll.

  • Hannitized

Yes this shows he made bad judgement. And for the first time in 8 years we have a president who can admit he made a mistake and make a change and learn from his lesson.

Thank God for that. I was hopeful for a change of this magnitude in the highest office of the land.

This is exactly what we were hoping for!! Obama was never considered a perfect person, regardless what you think, we always knew that he was the type of leader who can learn from his decisions, admit mistakes and move forward.

    That is all we wanted.

Bush could never show this much character. I am hopeful for more of this sort of change.

Except that in Chicago, the only vetting process is whether your a democrat or not.

Rob what is really bizarre to me about this, even surrealistic, is the enormous deal they made about vetting potential cabinet members.

Remember This CNN article back in November on how Obama’s vetting practices were going to “chase away” candidates?

Living in this time of zero criticism of Obama by the MSM is certainly the most surreal period of my life. It’s just plain weird.

Obama is just showing who he really is and the MSM can’t cover for him now that he’s the Prez. It’s a pleasure to watch him being brought down to a more realistic position in the eyes of Americans.

I wonder when we’ll get stories about devastated and suicidal Obama believers…

Gee, it makes one think Barry is just a media creation.

Rob – You are so right. Looking at his pre-election pals and then thinking that he will “change” and select ethical people? What a joke this guy is turning into.

  • docdave

And for the first time in 8 years we have a president who can admit he made a mistake and make a change and learn from his lesson.

That statement is so funny I can’t stop laughing. He’s already made several mistakes in his cabinet selection so it seem he hasn’t learn much from them. I predict that he will continue to screw up in ways we can’t imagine today.

It’s only been the first week. Give it time and let history judge.

Don’t Obama’s Four Controversial Nominations Prove His Poor Judgment?

Obama getting elected proves America’s poor judgment.

  • http://www.valleydeals.com/cgi-bin/board2/YaBB.pl Kevin

What; you mean Barry won’t be paying my mortgage, health insurance and supply me with a new car?
What kind of joke is that?

  • BILL

Poor judgment has nothing to do with it. This is typical for democrats and their “ethical” ways of doing business.

  • 2Hotel9

Poor judgment? No, it proves he has zero judgment. He is going to ram through his criminal paisanos and he does not care what Americans think about it.

  • 2Hotel9

And make no mistake, this dance with Daschle is a smoke screen, covering for other criminal anti-American asswipes he is putting into his Admin.
