Distasteful Plane Crash At Awards Show?

Early Sunday morning tragedy struck when an airplane in Kentucky full of passengers crashed killing everyone but one on board. Sunday evening the Emmy Awards featured a skit parodying the show Lost starring host Conan O'Brien who gets into a plane crash on his way to L.A.

You can see the skit here.

Predictably, some are upset.

Personally, I think it's a bit silly to get worked up about this. Yeah, the timing was unfortunate, but as tragic as what happened in Kentucky is plane crashes happen all the time. It wasn't like the folks at the Emmys were trying to mock what happened in Kentucky, and any subsequent outrage over this skit from those involved with that crash in Kentucky is going to seem a bit contrived to me.

Yes, seeing a plane crash skit after a real-life tragic plane crash can be upsetting for some, but what are we going to do? Life goes on.
