Disgusting

A group of Muslims in Great Britain are planning to celebrate the greatness of Osama bin Laden on 9/11.

The Guardian - There were fears yesterday that a controversial conference to commemorate the 9/11 hijackers and other al-Qaida terrorists would provoke rightwing thugs to attack British Muslims.

Omar Bakri, leader of the extremist Islamic group al-Muhajiroun, plans to hold the convention this Saturday, the third anniversary of the attack on the twin towers, at an as yet undisclosed location in east London.

Anjam Choudry, the UK secretary general of al-Muhajiroun, rejected suggestions that the conference would be a celebration of the 9/11 hijackers, but confirmed it would feature videos of Osama bin Laden and discussions of jihad, as well as a lecture dedicated to dead al-Qaida leaders.

I am a firm believer in free speech, even of the most vile variety that comes from the mouths of KKK members and the people described above. But stuff like this really test my resolve.

These people celebrate the murder of approximately 3,000 unarmed American men, women and children yet screech with rage any time Americans (or other victims of Islamic terrorism like Israel) fight back.

Screw them.

Thank you David. Those are kind words.

The purpose of government shouldn’t be to do good, but simply to refrain from doing evil.

Give me one good reason we should not take pictures and check ID’s and keep track of Osama supporters.

we can decry them for being boils on the buttocks of humanity.

I do that right here on this website. Daily.

Think globally, act locally.  These people should have thier names photos and addresses posted, and their neighbors notified.

I assume you are aware that “freedom of speech” is not unlimited

I am aware of this.  If I remember correctly there were certain Supreme court rulings limiting speech that was meant to incite violence, etc.  I fully support that ruling as it is in keeping with the other first ammendment right concerning peaceful assemblage.  But still support the right of the KKK and other hate groups like those described above to say what they want to say.  As long as they’re not calling for more violence, etc.

we can decry them for being boils on the buttocks of humanity.

Rob,
I assume you are aware that “freedom of speech” is not unlimited (that is, you can’t claim a right to free speech protects incitement to violence, slander or libel, false advertising, etc.). Thus, I’d expect the authorities to be monitoring who says what, if for no other reason than to build a dossier on these vermin.

Also, free speech works both ways. If they can “celebrate” 9/11, we can decry them for being boils on the buttocks of humanity.
