Did You Remember To Set Your Clocks Forward?
It’s daylight savings time again, and Say Anything readers are crabby about it.
And I don’t blame them. The goal is to adjust time so that there’s more daylight during the day time hours. But what do these time shifts really accomplish? In the fall the time shifts back so we get up an hour later in the day so it’s brighter out on the way to work for the vast majority of us that work during the day. But it also means we work an hour later, so it’s dark after work.
What would you rather have? Dark on the way to work? Or dark after work? Personally, I’d rather it be lighter for longer after work than before.
I think DST demonstrates the arrogance of government power. They think they can make our lives better by manipulating time itself, but really we’d be better off if they just butted out.
And then there’s this:
