Did A UN Agency Cook The Numbers In Global Warming Analysis?

One expert is making that claim.

WASHINGTON (7-15-08) - Mathematical proof that there is no “climate crisis” appears today in a major, peer-reviewed paper in Physics and Society, a learned journal of the 10,000-strong American Physical Society, SPPI reports.

Christopher Monckton, who once advised Margaret Thatcher, demonstrates via 30 equations that computer models used by the UN’s climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is “climate sensitivity” (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement of CO2’s effect on temperature in the IPCC’s latest climate assessment report, published in 2007.

Climate Sensitivity Reconsidered [http://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/200807/index.cfm] demonstrates that later this century a doubling of the concentration of CO2 compared with pre-industrial levels will increase global mean surface temperature not by the 6 °F predicted by the IPCC but, harmlessly, by little more than 1 °F. Lord Monckton concludes –

“… Perhaps real-world climate sensitivity is very much below the IPCC’s estimates. Perhaps, therefore, there is no ‘climate crisis’ at all. … The correct policy approach to a non-problem is to have the courage to do nothing.”

It’s worth noting that when people in the private sector, most notably officers of major corporations, manipulate numbers to get results more to their liking they go to jail for fraud.

The folks at the IPCC, along with Al Gore, just won a Nobel Prize for their work.

It’s a crazy world, isn’t it?

The worst part of all of this is the complicity of the country’s mainstream media outlets, and the eagerness with which they’re wiling to participate in this scam designed to bring western capitalism to its knees.

I guarantee you won’t read or hear one word on NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR, etc. about this report calling into question the validity of the IPCC’s recent climate report.

Had this report shown that the more valid computer models actually predicted an even more apocalyptic future for the planet than the one Al Gore’s currently pimping, you wouldn’t be able to escape all the “Planet in Peril!” and “Destination Doomsday” banners being plastered across the country’s newspapers, magazines, and TV news shows.

I’ll take “Where’s the reset button?” for $400, please, Alex.

Of course they did!  Lefties lie; it’s all they have.

The real losers in the AGW controversy are the Wales.
No one is concerned over their fate anymore. They have been passed over for the weather. sigh…

Intentional or not their models have been flawed.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.
