Dick Morris: Palin Saved GOP From Landside Disaster

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Go figure:

Sarah Palin made a vast difference in McCain’s favor. Compared to 2004, McCain lost 11 points among white men, according to the Fox News exit poll, but only four points among white women. Obama’s underperformance among white women, evident throughout the fall, may be chalked up, in large part, to the influence of Sarah Palin. She provided a rallying point for women who saw their political agenda in terms larger than abortion. She addressed the question of what it is like to be a working mother in today’s economy and society and resonated with tens of millions of white women who have not responded to the more traditional, and liberal, advocates for their gender.

You have to blame the failure on the top of the ticket (AND I DO!) but millions of voters liked Sarah despite the smear job by the Obamamedia.

My husband and I basically voted for Sarah Palin. McCain is not our kind of conservative. (McCain is not a conservative at all.) BUT he was better than the alternative and his stance on abortion helped. BO being elected has restored my faith in voter fraud and how helpful cheating is to win!

I am in my room. Should I go in the other room? HA!

It is clear Obama is smarter, more organized, more grounded, humble, more willing to listen to others that don’t share his views (one of the biggest problems i have with republicans) and has a better connection with more americans and the world. Honestly what did Mcain/Palin bring other than sex appeal and a great war hero(Mcain is absolutly a hero-but that alone wont make a good president)?

Please bear with me! I apologize for being so sickened

Oswaldo, I actually agree. BUT I do think that ACORN’s tactics and practices have been overlooked and ignored. I also believe that many people who voted for Obama did so because they were uninformed. I hope and pray Obama will prove me wrong and he will be a good President. BUT if his record as a Senator is any indication? I foresee big time trouble. Most of all I hope he doesn’t keep his Promise to Planned Parenthood to sign the freedom of choice act. IF he does all tax payers will be forced to pay for anyone to have an abortion.

Oswaldo, You are right! I don’t care for Obama at all. BUT I am trying to work on tolerating him. I can’t believe our country elected a Socialist POTUS. I am praying hard and often about it. Please bear with me! I apologize for being so sickened.

Obama smart and humble? Say what? The guy with halos on his campaign literature, complaining about the cost of aragula at Whole Foods, and eating $100/lb Italian ham instead of a cheese steak is humble?

Obama is many things. He is intellectually brilliant. He’s got a way of persuading people without actually introducing any evidence for his position. He’s got a lot of people convinced that he is “one of them” without actually being so.

    Humble, however, he is not.

Hey I think Obama won without cheating. Given that do you think the demoncrats are going to allow any kind of meaningful vote reform?

  • Oswaldo

I hope and pray Obama will prove me wrong and he will be a good President.

So do I, Zsa Zsa. We’ll judge (not prejudge) him on his performance.

    vast difference in McCain’s favor

    I tend to agree. here.
Sarah Palin may not be all by herself, the “Future” of the GOP. But she’s an inspiration for other, like minded people to get involved, and bring common sense back.
Listening to her speak, I do not disagree.
Listening to McCain, I fould myself cringing, wishing he’d just shutup about immigration, global warming and such.
Same with Bush. Immigration, spending, billions to Africa.
You can’t out-liberal a liberal without becoming one.
You have to stand for something else.

Sarah Palin brought the GOP back to life after being DOA several times! She has much more experience than the other 3 and much more drive. She took so much garbage from the Obamaites including the MSM. Having been viciously attacked, I think she did rather well. IMO she has more savvy and know how than all three branches of our elected Government officials! One thing is for sure she is well liked in Alaska. A real change would mean not the same old tired Spend, Spend, Spending and someone who is not an Insider. We need people who lead instead of follow and aren’t afraid to stand up and say NO to the Celebrity Liberal Dems!

I think for once Morris got it right. Without Palin, McCain would have maybe lost every state!

Imagine a McCain/Lindsey Graham ticket (and you know Lindsey wanted it so bad he was squeakin’) and think about how NOT fired up you would have been.

I’m not sure I could have even voted for them!

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

Whew I thought that you were saying McCain had sex appeal.

But what did Obama bring besides empty rhetoric of hope and change?

  • Oswaldo

    Zsa Zsa says:

BO being elected has restored my faith in voter fraud and how helpful cheating is to win!

I agree with what Whistler says:

Hey I think Obama won without cheating.

Obama was elected fair and square. Voter fraud had nothing to do with it. McCain was the cause of the GOP loss. Of course, it’s always easy to speculate after the fact, but I think a Romney/Palin ticket would have fared much better.

Dick Morris is sometimes nothing more than a ranting “jerk” as Sarah would say. He makes up stuff as he babbles along, thinking nobody will bother to check.

    He says

The surge of young voters, which was supposed to animate Obama’s rise, failed to happen.

In fact, more reliable sources say:

Fending off accusations of apathy, youth voters turned out to the presidential election in historic numbers, exceeding the turnout of their grandparents’ generation and swinging at least two states for President-elect Barack Obama.

Up to 54.5 percent of Americans ages 18 to 29 voted on Tuesday, just 1 percentage point shy of youth voter turnout’s all-time high in 1972, according to preliminary reports. They made up a higher proportion of the electorate–18 percent–than the 65-and-older age category, which accounted for 16 percent.

And they leaned overwhelmingly toward the Democratic ticket. For every one vote cast for John McCain, two young people cast votes for Obama.
Both Indiana and North Carolina went blue solely because of the millennials, as 18-to-29-year-olds are known. Barack Obama lost every other age category in those states. And in the battleground state of Florida, although Obama had a very slight edge in other age groups overall, it was the 61 percent of youths who cast Democratic ballots that solidified his lead.

Palin gave us conservatives something to vote for. I don’t think she is quite ready to lead the conservative movement though. She delivers a great zinger whit wit and profundity, but I have yet to hear her articulate the virtues and blessings of liberty.

Sarah Palin was the best thing going for the GOP.
