Dick Durbin: People Who Criticize Michelle Obama Are Bad

Apparently Obama’s wife is off limits even as she actively campaigns for her husband in an official capacity:

Of course, Cindy McCain and what she does and does not have to say will no doubt remain a completely in-bounds topic of discussion and debate throughout the election.  Because Cindy McCain is married to a Republican, and Michelle Obama is married to the liberal messiah.

Then make her keep her ivy league shyster, affirmative action, trap zipped, then!

Of course, Cindy McCain and what she does and does not have to say will no doubt remain a completely in-bounds topic of discussion and debate throughout the election.

There is no doubt in my mind that this will happen.  I personally think that if a spouse campaigns for their spouse, they should not be out of bounds.  If Michelle can dish it out to republicans then she should be able to take it.

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

Really, really?

Yeah, if Michelle has a main campaigning role then she shouldn’t be free from criticism.  Just like Chealsey and Bill were not out of bounds when they were campaigning for Hillary.

In Hillary’s own words,"If you can’t stand the heat then get out of the kitchen!”

Considering what positive feedback Laura Bush had to say about Michele, I would say that she would agree.

Laura Bush shows some class and stands up for Michele Obama by admiting something all logical people already know.

So if I said that the once drug addicted 2nd wife of the gop candidate was caught stealing drugs from various charities she set up, blamed it on back pain and stress from her husbands deep involvement in the Keating Five bank scandal…and because of her connections got out of severing the hard time a non elite drug addict heiress 2nd wife would have done…

That is in bounds?

That’s right, Bob. It would be totally in bounds, IF she stood on the podium and said not just “I think my husband would do a good job” but instead gave speeches attacking Republicans, or Hillary for that matter. Of course, Cindy McCain hasn’t said that, as Michelle Obama has, but since you went there so quickly you obviously really don’t have an issue with it either.

Very articulate and powerful argument Goon.  Although, I think simply saying “Turbin Durbin Sucks” would have conveyed your argument a lot more intelligently.

Interesting side-note to this discussion.  Last night on FOXNEWS Bill O’reilly cautioned republicans to be very careful in their treatment of Michelle Obama.

Attacking her, he said, could back-fire big time.

Criticizing her campaign statements was Ok said O’Reilly, but the folks see her as a wife and mother first and will not take kindly to efforts to smear her.

Good advice, in my opinion.

And Billow knows about the repercussions when criticizing a woman.

So what my good buddy dick is saying is that when it comes to Michelle Obama our constitutional right to Freedom of Speech is revoked. I switched my voter registration to a Dem. so I could vote in the democratic primary and i had to re-register as a Rep. immediately after because i started to feel dirty.

I think Michell Obama is totally within bounds because:

A. She’s putting herself into the fray,

B. She’s a pretty unlikeable person. My Wife (who’s a Democrat) said last night that she didn’t like her and doesn’t know why.

C. She’s probably a politically extreme as her husband.

So in my opinion, she’s fair game. But I don’t think it’s a good idea. Hillary was unlikeable too, and all the attention that was focused on her during the 1992 campaign was attention not focused on Bill.

Obama isn’t going to be defeated by pointing out that his wife is an unlikeable, angry shrew. He’s going to be defeated by showing that despite his rhetoric, he’s the most politically extreme presidential candidate in America’s history and has no qualafications for the job.

That is because after you registered as a Dem, you started to develop a conscience, for the first time.  And afterwards you realized what a scumbag you were and had to switch back to a republican in order to sink back in denial.  Revel in your ignorance.
