Detainees Torture Guards

Of course, the AP calls it "defiance" instead, but hey... it's just semantics, right?

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Some prisoners at the U.S. base in eastern Cuba have gone on the attack, as in April 2003 when a detainee got out of his cell during a search for contraband food and knocked out a guard's tooth with a punch to the mouth and bit him before he was subdued by MPs. One soldier delivered two blows to the inmate's head with a handheld radio, the documents show.

"Several guards were trying to hold down the detainee who was putting up heavy resistance," recounted a translator who saw the incident. "The detainee was covered in blood as were some of the guards."

The soldier who struck the inmate, and was dropped in rank to private first class as a result, described it as a close call. "The detainee was fighting as if he really wanted to hurt us. ... We all saved each other's lives in my opinion," he wrote.

The documents, obtained under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by AP, are far from a comprehensive look at Guantanamo and do not provide full details about each incident.

This is not necessarily an exhibit of media bias or anything. But if you reverse the roles, imagine the outcry... The manner in which our guards treat the detainees in Gitmo is highly honorable and more than any "POW" could expect...

Hey Dick Durban! Hey Charlie Rangle!

Where’s the outrage for the treatment of our soldiers?  Most of these young adults are from reserves units.  They are serving their country in a selfless way.  Do they deserve this type of abuse?

Speaking of which… did anyone hear Charlie Rangle appologize like Dick Durban, sort of, did?  You know he made the same basic comments, right?

This is the same perspective problem the media always exhibits.  From where they’re sitting, America is inherently wrong in all its foreign policy decisions.  Thus, those fighting against us in Iraq are the equivalent of “freedom fighters,” comparable to our own revolutionary forefathers.

Amazing, but true.

The difference is everyone has always known Rangle is a nutjob.  He makes absurd statements all the time, no one takes him seriously.  And he’s not a ranking member in the house, like Durbin is in the Senate.

So the answer is no, I hadn’t heard he said anything of the sort...or sort of apoligized.

Look at the headline for the article.  Defy is an odd word to use.  According to the definition of the word it implies courage and bravery.

To me, there’s nothing “brave” or “courageous” about detained terror criminals flinging semen and feces at our troops and threatening to kill their families.

Maybe no one in the MSM, or the politicians, try to point these acts out because that’s what everyone “EXPECTS” the detainees to do?  I guess I expect this kind of stuff from them, though without confirmation from the press, all I can do is speculate about my expectations of their behavior.
