Despite Poll Showing N. Dakotans Don’t Want It, Byron Dorgan Provides 60th Vote For Health Care Bill
According to a poll released earlier this week, 62% of North Dakotans oppose the government health care bills making their way through Congress. Despite that, Senator Byron Dorgan tonight provided the 60th vote to bring this health care bill that’s so unpopular with his constituents to the floor of the Senate.
This bill will cost $2.4 trillion over 10 years of full implementation. This bill forces Americans (and/or their employers) to only buy their health insurance policies from among government-approved policies offered through government-run health care exchanges.
It will not limit health care costs. It will raise taxes. And Senator Byron Dorgan voted for it.
And yes, while this is just a procedural vote to advance this bill to the floor of the Senate, remember that any vote to advance this bill is as bad as voting for the bill.
