Democrats Will Keep Lieberman In The Caucus

They sort of had to. Just about everyone from Harry Reid on down wanted Lieberman out, but The One started talking about “unity” and “bi-partisanship” after the election and you can’t exactly say those things and then stand by and watch as your party trashes someone who actually did work with the other side.
So Obama put in the call, and Lieberman stays in the caucus. He’ll keep his Homeland Security chairmanship, but the Democrats still stripped him of a subcommittee chair.
There will be a lot of back-slapping in Washington DC, and no doubt the media elite will be all teary-eyed with the unity of it all, but this doesn’t really mean anything. The Democrats’ idea of bipartisanship will still be “you go along with our agenda.”
Not that Republicans would do anything less if they were in office. Which is as it should be. All this talk of “bipartisanship” is a waste of everyone’s time.

More like a valuable lesson in the value of the secret ballot. Without the party leadership being able to know who was failing to support the party line and act to enforce the leadership’s edicts, the move to oust Lieberman failed.

I have been on LGF several times, one of the things I liked about it was that people seemed a little more civilized than a lot of blogs. Don’t know any of those people, but appreciated there wasn’t a lot of ignorant ranting, childish, racist, gutter talk. Just my opinion.

They kept Lieberman because they HAD to.

They need him to caucus for them on the Dem side. They’re very close to that 60 vote super-majority but not over the top. And there are two undecided races still out there.

If they gave him the heave ho-and he caucases with the GOP they’d be shooting themselves in the foot.

Bottom line: They need him. If the margin had been wider, say, 52 to 48 they’d have ripped him apart like B movie zombie cannibals.

Yeah, The lefts version of compromise is ‘do what I want without asking questions.’

When the Republicans compromise, they work with idiots like Teddy the driving Bear Kennedy, and Russ the Fag Feingold, or Foot-tapping Barney the purple dinosaur Frank, selling out the conservative position.

When have any lefty democrats like Ried, Pelosi and the like moved from their radical positions to work constructively with a conservative point of view Republican.

Reid, Pelosi, etc., think they are going to school O, but that is so not going to happen. He is not going to do what they want, he is going to do what he wants. Should be amusing.

Depending on how the Minnesota and Georgia senate races turn out the Dem’s are not going to have total veto-proof and filibuster proof senate. They need Leiberman to vote in their camp.
My prediction: this congress is full of itself and they will try to roll over Obama—and they will be successful. Obama will think he is President, but it will really be the dynamic duo of Reid and Pelosi backed by Miller, Frank, Steney Hoyer, Waxman, etc.
I fear less from Obama than the congress of 2009.

Lieberman’s a nice guy. Like him. Thanks for the support on Iraq.

Still looking for the no-business as usual cabinet, and congress post Obama. Doesn’t look like much change to me.

The only thing changing might be Obamas positions after he got the full scoop from the intel briefings.

He is going to have the same positions on things as Bush did, but without the outcry from the left.

I think that they would have the same cabinet if Hillary were elected, except for Sec of State, which wouldn’t be Obama….HaHaHaHa.

I’m not bad mouthing LGF, I’m merely stating facts, the list of people being banned from LGF for no good reason is growing exponentionally.

Charles Johnson is banning Robert Spencer’s defenders and people who have doubt about evolution like it is a sport to him.

Having posted here at Sayanything for years I know Rob is far more pro free speech and pro-tolerance than LGF is.

I would never bad mouth Rob.

anyway I’m sure if I ever went too far Rob would give me a chance to explain myself first and then if I kept doing something he does not approve of I’m sure Rob would warn me before he would ban me.
