Democrats Want To Protect Kidnappers

Apparently Democrats like Diane Feinstein feel the "right" to an abortion is more important than a parent's ability to be in control of their child's life.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Confidants like grandparents or ministers who help pregnant teens should be protected from prosecution under a bill headed for Senate passage that would punish anyone who takes girls across state lines to end their pregnancies, Democrats said Tuesday.

"We should not criminalize the grandparents or clergy members to whom a teen in trouble might turn for help," said Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., who plans to introduce an amendment to protect such confidants from prosecution.

What this means is that if your little girl gets pregnant underage and seeks counseling from an abortion group like Planned Parenthood, an employee of that clinic can actually escort your child across state lines so that she can get an abortion without your knowledge and you would have no recourse against this person. They would not be held responsible for escorting your child across state lines without your knowledge or consent ("kidnapping" is what this is generally called) nor would they be held responsible for helping your child hide the fact that she's been having underaged sex and is, in fact, pregnant.

Does that sound fair? Do we really want to take control over situations like this away from the parents and place it with abortion activists? I don't think so.

"But what about instances where the girl was raped by a family member," supporters of this law would say. Well, what about them? Our judicial system has already been empowered to deal with situations of abuse or incest. It is the duty of those in whom abused underaged children confide to report the abuse to the proper authorities, not spirit the child to another state for an abortion.

I really like the following perspective,

The culture of death (aka the Democrats) don’t care about your rights. Just who do you think you are? A parent? We have the government nanny-staters for that now.

Just because you happen to support this law doesn’t make it alright to smear anyone who disagrees with you, Rob.

OK I agree with the above. But what happens to the pregnancy? Does is run it’s course or the fetus is aborted?

I thought that most states’ parental notification laws had a provision that in those cases they could go to a judge.  In that case the judge would be acting as parent.

Whistler if the judge is acting as the parent, does he orders the pregnancy terminated or the child will have to say: “My son/daughter is my father’s/uncle’s child?
